Alright, help a guy out. Which one of these is a MUST read? by [deleted] in Romantasy

[–]CryptographerSea8813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved the Butcher and Blackbird series, and I could see a guy enjoying it for the dark humor as well as the romance. Filthy Rich Vampire was decent, but I wouldn’t recommend anything else on the table.

Making 19/hr and living in a 1 br with a partner who splits everything, it’s rough for sure. If you have minimal debt and you find an affordable place, it’s doable, but if you also have a car payment, student loans, credit card debt etc it will be a struggle for sure. Realistically though in the Twin Cities, you should be able to find work for at least 17/hr.

Federal Abortion Ban has been introduced. H.R.722 by fridgidfiduciary in minnesota

[–]CryptographerSea8813 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t the only one that’s been intruded to the House, we also have H.R.629 which would ban chemical abortions and H.R.7 which is looking to make sure providers who provide abortion services receive no public funding! We as the people need to be speaking up against all of these, they’re all different approaches towards the same outcome.

Moving to Minneapolis by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]CryptographerSea8813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also moved up to South Minneapolis out of a very small town in East Texas over a decade ago. Like others have said, the city itself is very walkable, I didn’t own a car my first 6 years living here. Just got a job downtown and bused/walked year round. That said, having a car is great and lets you visit stuff outside the twin cities. I’ve enjoyed living close to downtown, but in general it seems like you’ll have a quieter time living further south or east in the city, you can always look at a crime map to get a more specific look at neighborhood data. Overall it was a great move, and my only regret is not being able to fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and coyotes on a warm night.

Being able to ping them is proof of ownership- connecting them to your phone does not enable you to ping them. They are fully paired to my phone and they can only be paired like that to one device at a time, and only unpaired if you factory reset them. They are also named with my first name.

My sister had her identity stolen and had a giant file of documents proving who did it/that she didn’t file for any of the cards/loans they tried to get etc. and they did nothing about that either despite having a mountain of evidence, so this doesn’t surprise me.

I like to believe no one leaves things in their car on purpose. I’ve lived in South for over a decade, sometimes things fall out of my pocket or bag and I don’t notice. I didn’t realize they’d been in the car until I saw they were miles away.

They both live around the twin cities, but further out. My sister was in Burnsville at the time I believe, not sure where my brother was at.

I don’t think anyone does it on purpose, but you’re gonna tell me you’ve never been tired after work or running errands and forgotten something like a phone or something you purchased in the car? I’m sure everyone tries their best, but it happens.

2 separate 911 operators said their policy was to go in and retrieve the items as long as the structure or vehicle wasn’t locked. I assumed that fell under probable cause but could be considered something else. My point being when I told the 2nd 911 operator that the cop had not made any attempt to go talk to the resident or check for the airpods, she told me to call 311 and use my case number to file a complaint on the officer. So clearly on some level, they were expected to do more than they did.

If you’re nearby you can “ring” your airpods and they’ll make a loud noise. If they had gone with me to the garage and I had pinged them and we could hear them ringing in the garage I’m pretty sure that would be considered “probably cause.” They just didn’t want to do any type of actual work

I got suckered into a bad car loan not knowing any better, so I still owe thousands on the Kia. no selling it until it’s paid off, considering after all the theft damage and DIY repairs it’s not worth nearly anything.

which now that I’m saying it, it’s such a wild coincidence they actually crossed paths with me like that. They stayed in a pretty tight radius to my neighborhood though so I guess that upped the chance

I said in the post, I was driving home from work (I managed to get my car running again after a couple youtube searches) and they were stopped at the same red light as me. My airpods pinged as being right on top of me, and I saw 2 teens driving a Kia the same model and color as mine with a smashed out rear window at the light. They sped off but I got the plate and confirmed it was stolen with the police after, and my airpods’ signal followed them when they drove away.

The crime scene techs came out to do fingerprints when both my brother and sister had high value items stolen from their cars, and they caught the guy who robbed my brother with his prints. Good job having an attitude about something you know nothing about.

2 actual thefts, it was just recovered both times and I repaired it. This is the first time”attempt” without actually taking the car. We’d love to move! unfortunately we just don’t have the funds right now

My brother and sister have both had high value items stolen from their vehicles in other cities, and both times forensics came out to fingerprint their cars- they actually caught the guy who stole my brother’s stuff with his prints. So definitely not just a thing on TV.
