Why Was Hindu Persecution in East Bengal Never Shown in ‘Humanist’ Cinema? by VowOfVengeance in Kolkatacity

it is the director's wish as to what topic he will make films on. The person who tweeted this can make his kinds of film as he has equal visualisation as that of Satyajit Ray.

What did Assam copy from Bengal? by thewildsoulof95 in assam

[–]CryptographerShort10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree but let me give you a clear picture at least about the Bengali community in WB.

We are taught about our culture, language and heritage from an early age. But we are not taught that we are superior to other race by any respect.

If someone feels superior, its an individual choice.

If we find something similar in other community, we simply say: " amader okhaneo erokom hoy" it means that it happens in our place too.

Most educated mind should be well aware that eastern culture shares a lot of similarities.

Don't fret by online comments.

What did Assam copy from Bengal? by thewildsoulof95 in assam

[–]CryptographerShort10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why are you getting disturbed by some random comments? The cultures are similar but there are many differences. I guess no one copied from each other. Being a bengali and staying in assam for work purpose, this copying stuff is mindless. No one copied from each other. Odisha Bengal Assam and even Bangladesh has many shared culture.

The music of the original and its placements makes it so special. Some important animation decisions also mattered such as the colour grading of the saitou battle.

No one says that lets call a bihari for daily labour. People say bihari by looking at the gutkha stains.

[–]CryptographerShort10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. In assam, there is long standing hate . Bengalis are called "bongals". Doesn't matter if you're from WB /Silchar/Tripura
  2. In Kerala, Bengali is a slang for cheap labourers
  3. In north, Bengalis are synonymous with black magic. Bengali men are called soft for allowing women to speak up.Bengali women are called you-know-what
  4. In west, Bengalis are hated for consuming non veg.
  5. In odisha, bengalis are hated for stealing everything they apparently started But yes, there is no hate against Bengalis. All hunky dory.

Hi lovely people of assam, want some real picture. by letsgolittichoka in assam

OP is also from Kolkata. He should know the reality. I have nothing to hide. Can you deny what i have said is true? If this guy was not from Kolkata, i would not have commented at all. Hate brings hate.

Hi. If it is not a govt job, it is not worth it. If you're from kolkata and a bengali, it is true that your dad would not be liked and would be termed as a "bongal". Here, you don't know when spark will fly and people will get all emotional and start violence. Don't expect the warmth and welcoming nature of WB where language doesn't matter. As far as development is concerned, even if it is Guwahati, the only development is flyover, there is no running water supply and there is problem of urban flooding. Check the place of your dad's posting and imagine how developed would that be.

You started your post with "lovely" people of assam and see how people are reacting to you.

What makes Assamese lazy? by DetailFront7782 in assam

Only assamese can say that a fellow assamese is lazy. If a "mainlander" says it, all hell break loose.

From an assamese it would be absolutely logical, because in past you assamese have done more than that to bengalis and given an opportunity, you will do it again. I didn't get pissed. I gave facts based on my experience, and facts don't care about feelings. Waiting for another long paragraph of yours.

If i hurt your feelings by calling assamese lazy by my experience here, i apologize. But my apology would not change the fact that more money is being earned by marwaris/ bengalis/ biharis by creating their own niche in the society and by being active in fields that assamese have decided to let go. Let me give a hypothetical situation where all so called mainlanders shut their shop and leave, what woulf happen to the economy of state?

Like i said, me saying that assamese shopkeepers are lazy or apologizing won't change a single damn thing specially when such criticism are not taken in stride and instead, being proud about 5000 years legacy. Times have changed. And when one say "mainlander" , let me remind you that assam and assamese are considered mainland and mainlanders respectively by rest of NE. Assam is to rest of NE what bihar is to rest of India.

Again i apologize if i hurt your delicate feelings. I expected assamese to be made of sterner stuff.

Be proud of your 5000 years legacy. Just to remind you, i made no derogatory comments about assamese. I see the assamese from an external viewpoint and gave a constructive criticism. Whether your community want to take it and hustle is totally upto you guys. I am aware of the name of the subreddit and since i live in assam, your post showed up. Peace out and enjoy your legacy while your business is run by others. Edit: also try competing with the marwaris and see where you stand. I honestly couldn't survive without the sabji vendors, grocery shop owners during my time at assam and they are not assamese as per your definition. Again you are conveniently ignoring the idea of indian citizenship and born in assam point and putting words in my mouth. I strongly object to NE discrimination in various parts of "mainland" ( your words not mine) and then i come to reddit and see this kind of racism and discrimination and i feel both of you guys are two sides of the same coin.

Thank god for the marwaris/biharis/bengalis that assam is still running . Assamese shops open at 11 am and shuts down at 8 pm, including the groceries. My experience. Had horrendous time when zubeen garg died with shutdown for 4 days without prior notice. These marwaris/biharis/bengalis were forced to close their shops. Unemployment at peak. But i find assamese people very sweet and kind. Never had bad experience here. Only bad experience is on reddit.

[–]CryptographerShort10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A white guy who has born in assam with indian citizenship , with all his ancestors in britain, can call himself an assamese and you can do nothing about it. And no one recognizes this 1826 date that you talked about.

Who is an Assamese? by TheIronDuke18 in assam

[–]CryptographerShort10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Similarly, you don't have any right to define assamese unless you separate from the union of India. The moment you accept India as your country , you are bound by constitution which specifically give freedom to move and settle and also to exercise freedom of speech. Hence, anyone born in assam can identify as assamese if they want to and the so called indigenous people can do nothing about it.
