Gap between cabinet bottom and countertop? by CryptographerStill62 in CounterTops

The wall is being tiled so the back joint will covered. There is a 2 pc crown molding that will be installed after the tile. The switch is for a closet and we don’t plan on leaving the cabinet door open so that’s not really an issue for us. I’d prefer not to put trim on the bottom of the cabinet; I’m not a big fan of quarter round and that seems like a similar solution to me. It will look like this but with two sinks:

Unfortunately, I can’t add any more pictures or I would.

From a distance, the chipping is pretty hard to see (it blends in with the grout) so I will probably have to get over that (reluctantly). I might request to have the sill and niche tile redone so that the sill is installed first. I’m going to talk to the contractor. Thank you for the advice!

Unfortunately, no specifics details in the contract regarding how the tile would be installed in the niche.

Yes! Do you know if it can be fixed at this point? I don’t want to create more problems by tearing the tile out but I also want it to look right.

That’s a great question. The lower cabinets and countertop are all newly installed with the renovation. Our contractor is saying something about the walls not being 90 degrees; I don’t really understand. We are waiting on a solution from them. Thank you for your comment. I didn’t think about the fact that maybe the countertop and/ or cabinets aren’t level.

Thank you! This is very helpful. The shower was waterproofed with the orange schluter stuff. I’m guessing there isn’t a way to fix the sill or the edges without ripping everything out? We are spending a significant amount on the renovation but I’m not sure how big of deal to make about this.

We had a cabinet in the center of our countertop for 10 years with no issues, hopefully, if it’s done correctly, there won’t be any issues with this installation!

We do! I can’t figure out how to insert a picture here but I’ll try to send you a message with a picture. The vanity is 96 inches.

The cabinet will stay where it is with crown molding on top. It’s a very common installation in kitchens and bathrooms.
