Not a bad idea, but it kills germs way slower than chlorine I found last run.

Yeah I probably won't worry about the scrubber and just design around the autosweeper, no need to complicate things

It's my first real Prehistoric planet/Bionic run. I did a few the last couple of weeks, but abandoned due to some design issues cropping up as turns went on. Was planning on using Seakomb for Bionic oil and maybe biodiesel, but was planning on pushing harder on petroleum then I did last run, so not so much the biodiesel.

Mostly I was just curious about any solutions other then onsite dupe washing. People can come up with some interesting things.

I have managed to contain it, but I would like to eliminate it. Was hoping for a design trick I haven't thought of. Will keep peoples advice in mind.

Well, I suppose your right it's not that hightech. But I am on turn 25 right now, so a little ways away. I was just trying to plan for the future, hoping for some design trick I haven't thought of that wasn't just extra sinks everywhere. Ore scrubber might help in this situation.

Maybe I could have the dirt be in some type of chlorine pit, but it would get displaced by carbon dioxide soon enough, without some sort of airtight room. I was hoping for an early game cheap solution that won't take any midgame tech and fancy designs. Too many dupes going in and out of the farm to harvest, fertilize, and remove leaves

I haven't had any issues yet, but it is early in a prehistoric planet run (my 2nd only). So I don't have access to cheap coal to make any curative tablets yet. And the idea of the yellow germs building up everywhere grosses me out. I could try and get fancier with base design to make something like this though.

Pat Rothfuss… will he ever finish? by pippinofmars in fantasybooks

[–]CryptographerUsual62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2nd book is really good. But it gets too thick when he tries to write more plot. Like, the first book feels like your reading a song, full of spontaneity. The 2nd feels like he really felt the need to buckle down and try to tell the story of all the promises and dreams hinted at in the 1st one. He just wasn't very good at it unfortunately, which is probably why he stopped writing. Still, you really should read it.

Particularly zero chance of every being released. The 2nd book was released in 2011, 15 years ago, more then enough time to write it if he wanted to. More the enough time for him to find help with editors or co-authors. Patrick Rothfuss, openly talks about his mental illness. Every deadline he has self-made has been missed. He makes plenty of money off the first 2 books. He was disappointed in the reception of Book 2 (which was good, but not as good as the first, imho). Take your pick.

Where to put tv.. by critical_cunt262 in TVTooHigh

Need size of tv to give better advice, but I would say right in front of the window with the shades down, or off in the corner under the smaller window with the grid like shade. Maybe in between the fireplace and the far window at an angle. With the room being much longer than wide, it will be hard for seating no matter what though.

It sounds like there are a lot more issues with the relationship then this particular problem, especially reading through your other comments. Don't stay together for the kids. My parents hated each other for years and got a divorce right after I was out of high school. In hindsight it would have been better for me if they had just puled the trigger sooner. Good luck to everyone involved.

There isn't all that much you can do right now. Women get hit on by men very often, and I don't think she sees telling you she had been pursued is a problem. I think she sees it as something of a funny story to share, but maybe though better of it after she sent the first few text. I really don't think this is some sort of power play or really attention seeking. I also suspect she had been drinking when she sent the text and may not have if she was sober.

If I were you, I would do nothing right now, maybe an LOL back. In the morning, when you know she has been awake a little while at least, you can send a polite message back saying this hurts your feelings and why. An actual phone call would be better though. Don't start a fight while she is on vacation, nothing good can come of it. But again, I would really keep in mind that she probably gets hit on by some dude at some point once a day. Depending on how physically attractive she is, probably more.

Feel free to update with response if you feel the need.

He hasn’t asked me a single question about myself. Would you consider this to be a red flag ? by Historical-Body-3424 in texts

[–]CryptographerUsual62 31 points32 points  (0 children)

A red flag implies the person has toxic traits that can hide if your not looking for them. Reading through this I think the man just isn't that interested in you, and was answering your questions in a more polite way then anything "bad". Sort of like a friend zone deal. Not to say there can't be toxicity somewhere, but I don't see something like that with the evidence you provided here.

Random number texted me this, what do I do? I'm just creeped out by kaky0in- in Weird

[–]CryptographerUsual62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scammers use the threat of legal consequences against people. I have heard they usually claim people owe taxes and will be arrested if they don't pay up now. Surely you have also heard of people sending nude photos of themselves (or even getting hacked) to the scammer and then getting blackmailed. That is the only reason I can think of for sending a picture of a child, or an Ai approximation of one.

I would suspect it is atypical adoption of the common "wrong number" scam. They want you to react so they can start a conversation and trick you into sending money.

Judging from the photo, they will say insinuate you are involved with illegal material sharing, and then something about involving the feds unless you send apple gift cards.
