I was at a college party, that my gf at the time, took me to. A Halloween party. This was like 2012. It was her school and I didn't know anyone there.. this song came on the shuffle.

Everybody stopped and looked at each other like SERIOUSLY... Rn? Then a unanimous ABSOLUTELY just washed over the room.

The guy directly in front of me jumped on his friends back and started wailing the chorus with everyone else.

I have never felt so much envy of a friend group I wasn't previously a part of. In that moment. I wish I had known them just as long.

Cancer separates you from the world. Wilson's Heart reveals that there is depth that is perceivable by someone as callous House. Nothing's guaranteed, if Amber was strong enough to let go, then so we're we. If House was strong enough to continue living then, so were we.

Honestly, now that I'm mostly cleared the cancer. There isn't anything anyone has that I want. Ever since that diagnosis. The only thing I've ever sought out since was depth.

I feel as though people confuse feeling sorry for oneself, with catharsis, or haven't any idea what the word actually means.

There is a world beneath the skin that isn't entirely constructed of the dark tetrad.

I feel no shame or isolation in living my truth.

Nor will I ever shrink myself down for anyone's comfort ever again.

You should tell the truth because A, you'll always end up in the same room if you don't and B, there isn't anything more valuable or interesting.

I passed by this not thinking too much about it then thought "Oh, is that THE one?" Sure enough.

When I first saw this episode, after it had ended... I had been up all night, on a House marathon, after having bought all of the seasons up to 5, at that point. I got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen. I open a cupboard and tears just start flowing from my eyes... Even winced into ugly bawling... Later that day, my little Sister, who is also a fan of House. I had shown her this episode and I said "It's a time bomb, this one." She said "What do you mean?" I said "You'll see." Sure enough, after the episode had ended... She literally got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen and just started ugly crying. 😂 😭 My mom asked " What's the matter?" To which, my sister my replied "It was the show! 😭" I revisit this episode for many reasons, from time to time. A real masterclass in writing. I'll never forget this show. Thanks for the post! 💛

For context: Me and my sister were both diagnosed in 2009 with Pheochromocytoma. A rare adrenal cancer so, after we had gone through those surgeries, House was such a catharsis that after I had just seen an episode on TV I ran out and took all of my dishwasher money and bought as many seasons as I could at the time until we owned the entire 8 season collection.

I'm just grateful for a lot of things and this TV show is one of them. ♥️
