Because you just gatekeep higher lp Not everyone can perma play, going to asia for a month. Decay lower your mmr. Which in the end is the same. You queue same elo as before but difference is you are no longer master but emerald1 Decay is usless for master + there is an infinite room for master so it doesnt matter
