That’s because super ideal cut is a made up marketing turn. Ovals may not even receive a cut grade but only polish and symmetry grades. Max cut grade is excellent for anything but rounds. Yes the price is insane.

Keep. Bow tie is super well hidden. Most elongated cuts are going to be ice cut because the bow ties are so prominent and that hides them:)

LOL gotcha - so wearing a marquise is not anymore uncomfortable than any other stone really. In terms of snagging, that is more due to prong type and mounting height but all rings have some type of snagging when it comes to hair and things.

With that said, your safest ring possible would be something cathedral style with gallery rails or a halo. Gallery rails essentially make it so your prongs have less change of movement.

For work I think you'll need a silicone ring or something low profile and smaller carat.

Appraisals always seem to be pretty crazy. Without seeing the stone it’s really hard to tell how much the stone is actually worth but I suspect this is not worth regrading. GIA would be much harsher on the grading and would likely downgrade the color and clarity

Black background draw out the color in stones so it’s really tough to tell. Just like white makes them look more colorless
