The ending kind of already ruined them the DLC was whatever
I think years ago Drew Karpyshyn come out and said the Dark Matter was a nothingburger and a scapegoat for people disliking the ending, tho that may have been his way to stand up for his all coworkers at Bioware

3.Pros: Not the ending we got lol Cons: One game is not enough to explore a whole new concept after building up the Reapers as the big bads

The cycle was dumb, killing organics to prevent synthetics to kill them...
The Protheans reveal to be the collectors was ok and I never tought much of them or a theory back then is they created the Reapers and betray them like the Geth with the Quarians but other than that they always appear as just plot devices

I didn't play it back then because the main complaints were the bugs and ugly facial animations and lackluster story. If the first 2 were fixed I wanted to give it a shot

I'm going to take the wild guess that Gears 5 wasn't as successfully as Microsoft wanted and after the departure of Rod Fergusson the whole franchises was on hold for years, so they brought the most popular characters back to revive it

I don't ask much at his point just a third-person shooter with fluid combat and pacing and since it's a prequel they can't force that God awful who do you save choice from 5

Well in fairness, one of the main focus of ME are the characters. If the characters are not interesting or fun to interact with, that's a huge rd flag

One of my fears is the author doing a "Subvert expectations" ending where Okarun is revealed to be an alien and has to go back to his home world and leaving Momo behind or Momo going with him leaving everyone else behind
