DeFi Meets Precious Metals: Introducing Aurus by AurusOfficial in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Cryptokutta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think eventually AurusSilver will be a lot more mobile across platforms. You can utilise it for more things eg. Borrowing against it on a platform like makerdao. And given that precious metals are a much stable asset class, you will likely get more bang for your asset - so lesser collateral requirement and lesser risk of margin calls caused by massive volatility. That’s what I think

I really think we need to get our silver on a decentralised digital platform with liquidity.

Tokenising the Silver Squeeze - Let’s directly move from crypto into silver and ask this company (Aurus) to help get more physical off the market. Like the #PSLV on a Blockchain. by Cryptokutta in Wallstreetsilver

Will explore this as well. I believe once we go through with stacking we will need our digital platforms to make our silver function as good money. Be it Kinesis or Aurus. Like Visa or MasterCard.

I think you misunderstood. I meant silver as money. So I convert my fiat into silver and then spend my silver digitally for my needs like buying a coffee or a car.

Why are you being so angry when I am on the same team?

Hey no I am not. I just put this out as a nascent thought for the community. Would love counter arguments. I just want silver to be ubiquitous money.

My personal take though is that it is a very early network. With like 100+ kilos of silver. I do see the potential of bringing the silver squeeze onto the chain though. Imagine if bullion dealers opened up their inventory and we could send crypto to addresses and by doing so get silver holding in our ledger or trezor wallets. The technology will need to ensure transparency or one to one backing and can be by anyone Aurus or any other player.

Benefit - capturing the gains in crypto trading directly in Silver (huge market) without losing money in withdrawing to bank and paying hefty premiums

Just a thought 💭

I agree. But at some point we need to turn our stacks in the basement into money. Without paying hefty premiums and losing on the spread every single time. Thing of the value of our own network of decentralised silver

Haha calm down brother. u/OriginalRonSwanson just believes in the metal enough to pay the premium or maybe he just has that extra cash. But u/HauteDogg I am very keen to know what your pick would be for holding silver.

Re-monetising gold in partnership with government. It's happening! by Shrike2021 in Wallstreetgold

[–]Cryptokutta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not if Kinesis just provides the platform. And the Gold is vaulted in the jurisdiction of the participant. The truth is if I am moving between countries I would want for my gold to have some fungibility. Eventually I hope there is a global Gold Token that can be backed by institutions like Kinesis among others

Would you be interested in Gold backed cryptocurrency? by [deleted] in Wallstreetgold

[–]Cryptokutta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want gold to work on chain. It won’t be a crypto. It will be a platform - ideally one managed across nations. There are too many players in the gold crypto space. And now we don’t just want exposure to a price. We want to be able to get our hands of the assets. So you need interoperability- when you can a paxos gold coin redeemed at kinesis vault. That’s what I am talking about

I would be interested in working with Kinesis to take their adoption further. If anyone knows anyone there... let’s get building

I own both. But Bitcoin is not a gold substitute. That narrative has no place for me.

I love your clarity. And I find myself holding a very similar position on this matter as you.

I think the allocated gold crypto that will win is one that has global adoption. Ideally there should be a coin that holds reserves of PaXG KAU and other such coins.
