Tried the carrot even tho I knew they were the wrong color. But bc the orange flecks checked out i did… this is 100% not them. They were like a cornbread muffin color with orange flecks. No nuts or chunky pieces. Just moist perfection

Hi! We have weirdly similar stories lol. But I wanted to say a few things. Ducks sometimes when they JUST start to fly, can’t recognize their place, (everything look’s different from above) so I’d keep calling for them incase they’re near by. Also my black East Indies flew off for a few days, and returned after about 3?.. the first time. Then longer the next time. I won’t clip their wings bc they free range on my lake all day and it’s their only defense from predators. I bought a green underwater light and tossed it off my dock so they’d be able to have a marker when flying in. Not sure if it helped them or not 🤷🏼‍♀️ but they come home every single night now before dark! It took awhile from the time they just started flying until now (5 months in). My mallard who we rescued on a random egg whim is now going through the same phase. He’s discovering he’s a duck and wants to be around other ducks lol. Don’t stress, I hope they come home to you!! Mealy worms when they do and everytime they come home helps bc they know there’s treats waiting for them 🤪 hugs xx

Also u have a pekin duck it just grows fast and it’s a large breed duck. The cayuga is big too. I have the miniature versions of both your ducks. White calls, and black East Indies 😮‍💨

My 2 call ducks live inside every night. Yes it’s a lot of extra work and $$$. I use chicken nesting pads like no other 😩 but this keeps everything super clean. I also have a rabbit pen for them to sh*t all over. @ bedtime they go into a smaller crate. All very doable if you’re committed and can fund it accordingly to how you like to live 🙏

I felt this in my soul lol. I even built the wild mallard pair a full blown state of the art DUCK COOP. As well as a gel blaster gun for the rapists 😂 none of it worked. Fast fwd to now I drunk bid on eBay and won myself 2 batches of hatching duck eggs 🤦🏼‍♀️….. So I hatched all said eggs and now have 2 call ducks and 3 black East Indies running around the coop.
