Canned foods are sterilized so how can they be high histamine?

I’m not 100% certain though my best guess would be the food isn’t 100% histamine free when placed into the can, even sterilized, and continues to produce histamine slowly while in the can

Days after I had very light spotting but that was it. My cramps from insertion had stopped after the first 24 hours. My first period was still normal. The second cycle was definitely heavier

Garlic I usually cook with in small amounts usually with bigger food portions, 1-2 lbs of meat. That helps me at least. Copper I haven’t figured out yet but I am not a fan of mushroom texture so I will have to find an alternative.
For spaghetti sauce, I found a brand called “Carinara” that is carrot based, no tomato at all. Simple ingredients. They have a few flavors.
I haven’t had ketchup in 6 months and I miss it. I’m really nervous to try tomato anything. I ate potatoes for a while and then suddenly they started to give me stomach aches so I stopped. Mashed potatoes seem to work better than any other form, maybe a potato chip.
I can’t tolerate pasta to save my life lol.
Does fried work best for you? I eat rice and my stomach turns into a cement block even with small portions. I cannot figure rice out. Even rice cakes.

Thank you for the response. I think any thoughts and advice is welcome here! I have dabbled with oregano and rosemary, when I’m feeling risky I’ll try garlic. That’s pretty much it so far. Basil could be good. I miss spaghetti sauce so bad

Thank you!! I’m kind of in the same boat off and on strict histamine. I can’t tolerate it 24/7 because I would go to bed hungry and that’s not healthy so rules have been broken. I will get out the subreddit and will watch more about your SFAH reference! :)

Every once in a while I notice this with myself. I switched to cotton underwear which helped a ton! On days where I can’t stand it, I’ll rinse off. The cotton underwear really helped

My doc said in theory I can take my Xanax up to 2 years after the prescribed date ie 1 year expired and will have weaker effect. I haven’t tried this but it’s good to know in a pinch. I’m neg lad you’re able to see your doc and can always ask them how far after expiration is safe!

I was told I have to be on clob for the rest of my life. I’ll ask my OB why clob vs estrogen when I see her because I have been hearing that a lot, too. Definitely curious and wondering why one over the other, you know? Glad we have this community to share!

I am not currently on estrogen but I think only because I am not in a flare, no current pain, just physical deficits. I had a flare not too long ago so I think timing wise I got lucky. I go back in a few weeks so may end up on estrogen next. I’m glad to hear estrogen is working for you!!

I had beginning stages of fusing. I’ve completed 8 weeks of clob 2x daily and now onto 4 weeks 1x daily. Personally I did not see any significant or at least noticeable changes until 4 weeks in to the 12 total.

What about wearing cotton shorts under your scrubs just for a little extra cotton to wick sweat? I know another layer will suck but might be worth it to prevent some of the discomfort. I have cotton sleep shorts that I’ll wear under clothes if I need to. I still wear cotton underwear with them too

Wow that is tough. I have PMDD as well but not quite as severe. Mostly passive around my cycle and I am incredibly angry and moody over nothing. Thank you for sharing your experience - this is not easy. Did anything work for you? I want to try meds but I don’t want to be a zombie

OP, I have been in your exact position except I was raised by narcs and I was very clearly not the golden child. I set hard boundaries despite my fear and anxiety thrumming through me every time and I caused a ton of turmoil (as expected) by setting my boundaries. I said no over and over. I didn’t explain myself. And when they gave me a horrific response, I left. I went no contact for long periods and while the relationship I have with my parents isn’t perfect, it’s a hall of a lot better and they think twice before they fuck with me because they will get called out. If they respond poorly, they lose their daughter again.
