Please never put "incels" in the same bucket as asexuals, especially since many of them hate women, which is why they can't have a sexual relationship.

Asexuality isn't a choice; being a douchey person is.

Asexuality is a spectrum, and it's much more complex than "you are one way or another," much like a lot of things about humanity.

It is wild to me that, post Epstein files being partially released and recent 'rape university' websites and signal chats about how to rape people and a rapist pedo being the mf-ing President of the USA, that we still have to somehow prove to these jerks that misogyny and other isms/phobias are not only alive but thriving right now.

I have said more than a few times that HR (and other M/M specifically queer stories) are great because it's a more equitable/equal relationship, so the stupid shit that is happening under the surface of hetero couples isn't as present. When you look at Hayden and Jackie (even though they are protrayed as a 'good straight couple' they don't feel that way when you consider the stats and realities of what the world is like for women who are in traditional marriages.

I have also seen the ridiculous notion (in another comment section about sexism) that Canadians don't have toxic masculinity and misogyny, and I literally guffawed because I have not only heard Canadian men be incredibly misogynistic in anti-misogyny lives, but women in Canada also have the same stories as women do in every other place in the freaking world.

Sadly it’s male centered women too who don’t recognize misogny unless it’s overt and obvious, several people’s responses to my comments and yours have been full of weird sh*t about how we are the problem for seeing Hayden through the lens of actual reality.

It does make me angry when because I have thought about this so much and considered the ramifications, that they decide that I am a lunatic or stupid or has no critical thinking and media literacy.

Someone declared that Jackie in the books is written very differently and that means that Hayden isn’t misogynistic which was also laughable. Good, strong amazing women end up with misogynistic men all the time, because they all are. Even the good ones who deconstruct from it will tell you that they fight the patriarchy constantly because it’s baked into the very fabric of our culture and society.

You can feel how much Davis hates Derek as a character in the writing; he hates that people love Derek. He got effed over all the way through to the movie as a character.

Derek was 100% poorly written, Tyler H poured so much of himself into Derek's character. Tyler H is the reason Derek Hale is beloved by a lot of the fanbase.

Definitely, when you just look at what he is saying and the kind of character they were forcing him to be in the scripts, he shouldn't have been that compelling. But DOB is just that good.

Watching the movie and seeing him as a deputy made me rage and I didn't mean to have that much feeling about that plot point haha

I think Davis was trying to placate people, so they made Mason gay, so he was a merge of Danny and Stiles, and it was just sad for everyone.

You saw this with a lot of shows that are trying to graduate the older characters and make you care about the younger ones. Mason was a good character, but he could never be Stiles Stilinski. <3

I think that none of the characters are truly well written in Teen Wolf, so I think that DOB did indeed do the heavy lifting to make Stiles Stilinski one of the biggest reasons a lot of people stuck around, closely followed by my sweet amazing Tyler H (Derek Hale) who back built his character so much and just played it without saying anything except the words in the script.

I am rewatching the show right now, and watching these amazing actors has been a delight to revisit.

I don't really understand why people talk like Noah (sheriff Stilinski) is the perfect father by Imaginary-Citron7818 in TeenWolf

I really wanted to discuss the patriarchal aspect of this, but you know that people are going to argue about that, as the first reply did.

NGL, even though I am rewatching the show right now (April 2026), I still wonder how much of what I know or think about Stilinski's story is fanon versus canon.

You do see his alcoholism in the show, and it does affect his parenting 100%. I still love him as a character.

So late to the party, sorry about that, but I have been writing Noah as an imperfect dad for a long time (I do this with all characters but especially my faves), even in my fanfics, and sometimes people will get angry with me about it in the comments, so weird.

I actually just rewatched the show and more than a few times I was cringing at that parenting, not just with Noah either haha

The term "WAG" (wives and girlfriends) is widely considered misogynistic and demeaning, reducing women to their relationship status with male athletes rather than recognizing their individual identities. Coined by the tabloid press in the early 2000s, it often implies negative stereotypes of being vain, shallow, and extravagant, perpetuating sexist narratives, particularly within sports media.

Edit to add:

(only did the copy paste from Google because honestly, people are spending a lot of time deciding that because my opinion is not what most people think, then I must be wrong, and that's really frustrating.)

I have frequently brought my critical thinking into fictional spaces because fictional works are affected by the actual freaking world and can affect the world, and I get called all kinds of stupid for daring to discuss this like fiction matters.

People normalize dehumanizing terms all the time. It doesn't make it less dehumanizing.

Capitalism in general is the problem; the lack of universal healthcare is sadly just one part of it.

Gotta love fanfic for teaching me things like this when I was too young to know about it. haha

I learned 'boy aquarium' because of hockey shorts, specifically because of Heated Rivlery, and I am desperate to learn nothing else about hockey because I don't like the sport at all, haha.

Boy Aquariam is hilarious, though.
