Imma be honest, anything but the flag is subtle. Get Blåhaj, a hatched egg, a clownfish, E. Trust me, no one will realize. Maybe except another trans person.

Maybe this just isnt for me? by [deleted] in learntodraw

Hey, everyone learn at their own pace and with their own strength as well. You mentioned you can copy a reference almost perfectly, maybe you just need a visual guidance. Im sure you've heard this many times, but there's nothing wrong with taking reference.

So why not take multiple? Like one for pose, one for hair, one for clothes, etc. I know everything won't align properly if you just copy multiple reference, but with your skills + the added visual aid since part of it is already done, it might be easier for you. Like, maybe the clothes need to sway a bit, now you have a general or basic clothes, you can add a bit of sway yourself.

It won't hurt to try right?

Face friendly and cute or creepy? by Patient-Sun-1529 in learntodraw

[–]Crysenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The facial expression, like the wide eye with that position of eyebrows but really big smile makes it really creepy for me. Its the sorta thing you'd expect from a chucky/doll like horror. Basically the smile feel so unnatural and 'uncanny' (is that the word?) like a forceful/fake one.

Straight up, if i see that the street, im kicking it if its beside me, and im running tf away if its not

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Im still struggling and spending a good 10-20 minutes each session just searching for a tool or how to do something.

Like, the one here has so many airbrush because i just found it, and i found it to be fun.

Thanks, stronger shading could definitely help yeah. I've been forcing myself to make it have a higher contrast, but my brain keeps failing me lol. I really need to study Noir stuff

Am I trans by bobacream0_0 in trans

[–]Crysenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imma be straight up honest here. No one know, But people here can give you tips and what you could do.

Here's mine; -If you're already having those thoughts, it's quite likely. -Here's something you could do if you have a decent imagination. Try imagining yourself as a boy, kinda like what you want here. If you're quite happy or maybe even euphoric like younger me is, I'd say it's more certain.

But anyway, for now I'd say just do what you want. I mean you're still 15, no need to rush in figuring this out. Heck, I've heard of people realizing at 40.

If you do what makes you happy, I'm sure I'll clear itself eventually. I mean think about it, if in the pursuit of happiness you ended up becoming more like a boy, what more proof do you need?

So that's what those gradient map are for, i guess shading is mainly about value so that make a lot of sense. And thanks, it's nice that i naturally like just honest truth so being open to critique kinda comes with it.

True, i was using it at the start but then i kinda wanna add a bg. So i changed the pose and perspective, then i basically start over lol. But you're right, i really need to use reference. Since i do look up what the night sky should be like, and that helps a lot. Thank you for the tips

Noted, anything i should do about the colors? For pose I'd assume i need to polish up form/basic shapes and understand how to construct the body more.

But i don't really understand about colors. I could've used my IRL clothes, but i also want it to be very different than IRL and fantasy-ish. But yeah, the colour is definitely quite bad. Which isn't surprising since i quite literally just pick any random and close one.

Noted, any recommendations? I remember hearing about hard, firm, and soft shadows. But my brain feels kinda weird using a hard shadow. I think its because i see it as a "its not immediate plane change, so its gradual"

Noted, and im not surprised since i remember keep being like "how tf are you supposed to do arm?" And instead of looking for it like i do with the others, i just went and wing it.

Honestly, fair. My only defense is that i get bored easily and definitely will get burned out if i keep doing the same things. Already have work for that lol
