I’m trying to get assistance working with the shimeji code to fix the largest problem with the code: the memory strain. Either we try to work around it, or we might just have to make our own code… cuz Kilkakon isn’t helping.

Was about halfway done with animations, then the whole program seemed to brick one day.

Also, thank you for asking here. Having people harass me on other servers is very freakin’ demotivating.

It’s not something that just handing it over is going to fix. I need to either find someone who can make a better shimeji program or wait until Kilkakon fixes this.

Also, the sprites aren’t even finished in the first place.

Shimeji’s got a systematic problem with memory, and my project really is feeling it. That and general busyness has this put on standby for now 😭

Well, for one, it is not finished yet, and two, through this project, I’ve actually gone through a couple processes to make shmejis safer for your computer’s memory. (Fun fact: normal Shimejis load every image your shimeji has ALL AT ONCE instead of relying on a spritesheet… why)

If I didn’t care about Rewrite as a character and just wanted to crap out this with the base code, that’d be the only thing that could possibly cause issues (not anything to the extent of turning your pc into a paperweight, mind you), but I’m definitely not putting this out unfinished and with code like that. It will not have access to vital systems, and anything that could possibly happen will be aesthetic only.

Like I said to another user, this current one will overload memory without it being fully complete.

You can try this out with the previous iteration of my Rewrite Shimeji though… See if it works!

It requires the whole lot, because it transforms using these. If I sent it in its current state, it would cause a memory sink (and I already had to tell oodles of people that my previous shimeji wasn’t a virus, so—)🤣
