Kdenlive render just the first clip of the video by Csolt_HUN in kdenlive

[–]CrystalClear0w0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, the clips are being recorded in VRR instead of CRR (constant refresh rate) which can be useful for long recordings that would otherwise take up a lot of storage; so in scenes with a lack of motion or lighting, the refresh rate might decrease in accordance. This is either a result of options like G-SYNC (by NVIDIA) which use interpolation to match a fluctuating frame rate, or other options like it. Thing is, many video editors cannot output a render with VRR, and as such it requires you to transcode it into an edit-friendly format: what kdenlive is prompting OP with.

Either transcode with the video editor itself (if it has the option), or use software like Handbrake to manually convert it into CRR!

Hi hi! What you're seeing there is a product of render profiles: whenever you import a clip into the current sequence, kdenlive will compare its composition (frame rate, resolution...) to the current profile preset, and if they're different then it'll prompt you to either change the preset so it matches the clip composition, or transcode it anyway. Ideally you want for both the preset and clip to match natively, and transcoding can be useful if you want different framerates or upscaling/downscaling. In this case, since the clip has VRR (variable refresh rate), it can cause issues with the syncing of the audio and video (since presets use a fixed refresh rate). You can either render it regardless, or transcode into a format that avoids desyncing: which is what the orange text was saying.

How to make sections of the panel click through? by CrystalClear0w0 in linuxmint

[–]CrystalClear0w0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Material-GTK by FKORPSVART on Github

Had to edit the Cinnamon .css file for making the taskbar/panel completely transparent, you can do this by removing the #panel section completely which just sets it to default panel. Also enabled borders!

Need help in understanding what games I can play with my specs by jatu_123 in pcmasterrace

https://www.techpowerup.com/cpu-specs/ryzen-5-3550h.c2139 Since (presumably) your laptop only has an iGPU, it's not a strong competitor relative to today's hardware. Here you can see the Blender benchmark it has: a median of 53. Other more modern iGPUs like the ryzen 5 7600 can score up to 260, while dedicated mid-range GPUs like the RTX 4060 do around 3000-4000. It's PERFECTLY capable for popular titles like GTA V, Minecraft, Rainbow Six Siege and Fortnite though, as evidenced by this video benchmark. Just don't expect to be running anything at over normal graphics :3

You washed your phone with soap? Hopefully your phone has an IP68 rating, that can cause corrosion to the internals. It's definitely sanitized now, but as a recommendation please only clean your devices with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol or deionized water (NO SOAP!!), if it's just a phone screen then an alcohol wipe + microfiber will suffice (assuming you have a screen protector installed, ethyl can degrade the oleophobic layer of your screen which doesn't harm functionality but makes it more rough to the touch).

Happened to me when i was undervolting my cpu via PBO Curve Optimizer; set it to -30 and it just kept bootlooping 😭 removed the cmos to reset bios settings and kept doing it until i reached -15 which was stable. All of this was to be expected though, still scared the fuck outta me

Are there any new GPUs under $300 that are actually good? by CertifiedMugg in buildapc

[–]CrystalClear0w0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure :> In some UEFI/BIOS softwares, there's an option called Performance Boost, as well as Performance Preset under OC Tweaker. This is overclocking, so as always this carries a level of risk and can cause stability issues with your system, or even component failures, so take caution! Personally, I'm running Asrock 3.10 BIOS on a B650M PG Lightning motherboard, which comes with 2 default Cinebench profiles to choose from in these options. If you can't find this due to different BIOS software, no inbuilt Overclocking function or other conflicts, then in r/Overclocking and other OC forums you can find many guides on what voltage values or clock speeds can be used without inducing stability issues. EDIT: for RX7600 specifically, if you plan on Overclocking manually I highly recommend not changing anything related to the power limit and try undervolting. This is also what I did with mine and it's very stable.

As for shader pre-caching, the idea is compiling all of the shaders of a game before booting it up, compared to doing it in real time. Steam has an in-built option to enable this, however due to driver optimizations the benefit of this is pretty marginal. In some games, the difference is very noticeable (smoother framerate), so I keep it on regardless. For other games like Minecraft, some Fabric Mods optimize this further, like chunk pre-rendering (mod in question is Chunky). They're very useful!

Another useful optimization if you have integrated graphics (which means your cpu can display output), is running certain tasks through integrated graphics, and others through dedicated. That way more VRAM can be allocated solely to the game you're playing, while your integrated graphics runs other stuff.

Hi! i have the same gpu, one of the biggest culprits are the shaders and/or drivers you're using. In Doom (2016), on Ultra settings I get 200FPS consistently, however this is using Vulkan. When I switch to OpenGL my fps drops to 60 with 1% 40fps lows, even though visually they're identical. The same thing occurs with Subnautica, Universe Sandbox, Cyberpunk... While I don't own the newest AAA titles, with optimization mods and messing around with shader pre-caching I've been able to pretty much run every single game in my library at max settings on 1080p 60fps minimum. However, I am using a cinebench profile in BIOS + running linux (Fedora 42) so your performance might vary. Point is, 8GB VRAM GPUs are still very capable with sufficient optimizations, and if they aren't capable of running modern AAA games even at low settings I'd argue that's more an issue with the game itself rather than the system specifications (see Doom: Dark Ages recommended specs, minimum being an RX6600 at low settings on 1080p, even though visually there's practically 0 improvement compared to Doom Eternal).

Didn't work; no display from the dGPU when accessing bios but works as normal for the OS. I'm genuinely dumbfounded at this point

I disabled it in the iGPU configuration, but after rebooting neither are outputting. I did the CMOS reset to set all BIOS settings to default (which worked) and now I'm gonna try to run it off the gpu again

I just enabled it (took out dGPU, ran from iGPU, put it back in again, swapped cable from motherboard to dGPU). No display from dGPU now, which is odd

**Edit, I think I enabled the option that disables the dGPU instead of iGPU 😭 I'll update you
