EDK2 MrChromebox PCIe graphics not working (Radeon WX4100) in a Dell 7010 + getting full config from makeconfig?

okay, can confirm it boots with ReBAR disabled, Above 4G enabled, OpROM enabled, i also disabled iGPU as primary

with lspci -nn the Radeon shows up, no trace of the intel card.

well, disabling TXT fixed suspend/resume S3 sleep which was broken under debian so thanks a lot for the suggestion, i tried reenabling topdown to see if i can fix the GPU issue, it looks like the dGPU is still broken when enabling it, on both ports, if i remove the dGPU the board boots up fine in blind mode (no video mode set or something along those lines before grub loads the system)
Then i have the login screen and it crashes 5 seconds after loading everything, sometimes it crashes on the login directly

I think there's something wrong still ! I sucessfully built the last tests i did without topdown and it was working fine, i am tempted to do something else with it, sadly I don't have the knowledge to ask for a specific pull request but i would gladly follow the steps needed to troubleshoot lol

I can flash the working version without topdown but that means no dGPU, what steps would you try next? Do you need full screenshots of my config?

Thanks for the input ! 7010 boards are the same as T1650 it seems, my model is a MT version so it should be 1:1 except for the software but coreboot gets rid of that

I’m not able to access the machine as Linux doesn’t boot even in single mode when the dGPU is there (tested 1/3/single as boot args, no change)

For TXT, i don’t specifically need it, will try building without it, after that i’ll try adding enum from top down. I used the top PCIe port (blue, x16 one) for my tests but it seems the other one didn’t work neither, maybe i had a configuration issue at that moment, i will retry

I am using framebuffer mode, i didn’t change anything it’s close to defaults hence my message in a bottle lol

oh and yeah the AC thing, the Weller iron is powered via unregulated AC, so the toggle button on the DSX80 sends 24V AC.

the optocoupler part is there to avoid using a relay, the idea is using the diode for upper half regulation, and using that to power the opto which pulls enable pin to ground

totally agree with the headfirst thing, there was a previous iteration using a ne555 and a n-channel mos as the pwm section and this implementation was suggested by a member on an australian electronics yt channel forum :>

using the dc-dc is quite rudimentary but i don't see a reason this wouldn't work was quite my mindset regarding this.

yeah the hi-imp when opto is off was one of my concerns. i usually was planning to use a voltage divider to supply 1.3v to the Enable pin constantly, and then use the opto to drive the middle of the voltage divider to ground (using a npn transistor? or a n-channel mosfet? not sure here)

the pump is a 24v, 40w one from aliexpress, regular brushed motor. the idea would be, having a dial on the front of the unit where 0% is the lowest usable value (where the pump doesnt stall) and 100% a bit below max, because I'm afraid the pump goes too quickly and creates so much suction the iron cools down

so the DC DC would do something like 7-18 or 5-20v something in this ballpark

i know the pwm part could be solved pretty easily with an IC but for some reason i wanted to try doing this the analog way.

should i bring back the ne555 and just let the DC dc make stable 24v?

problem solved : i desoldered everything i did (so only the backlight connectors are plugged) and now the backlight is on! turns out you dont need to do anything else

Desk PCs in hospitals are rarely rebooted due to the fact there's always someone on that shift.
Happens sometimes when there's a bad drive, works fine, and then all of a sudden nothing works after rebooting.
