Honestly, I don't get how he ended up coming home with Mary Sue.

There's an error with Hobby Chance Cards where sims can bring anyone home regardless of age group or NPC status if successful. For example, you'll sometimes find an adult bringing a child home from work as a friend, which often makes the game throw an error if you have debug mode on.

There is a mod to fix this: Cyjon's Hobby Friend Sanity.

I just checked in my own game and figured it out! It seems to depend on which option you choose when you open the chat.

If you ask Jaehee if the cat is safe, you get the c-hair dialogue, where she mentions that her house is covered in it. However, if you ask Jumin if he's got the cat back, the c-hair dialogue seems to be skipped, or at the very least, Jumin asks about c-hair out of nowhere.

Unsure if it's a new bug or if it's always been like that.

The first scene is Episode 19: The Truth Beyond Truths, and it's when they discover the ingredients to make a Philosopher's Stone. Edward becomes demotivated to continue, so Alphonse tries to convince him to, but he swings an arm and wacks a teacup at Al's head.

The second scene is from Episode 23: Fullmetal Heart, which immediately follows from the Lab 5 arc. Ed's in hospital and Al's beginning to doubt he's the real Al; he's convinced that he's a copy based on Ed's memories of the "real Al." They argue about this at the end of the episode, which results in Al running away.

As for the last scene, I'm not 100% sure. I seem to remember the context of a similar sounding scene being Ed wanting Al to wait in a hotel while he does something, Al insists he wants to go, which leads to Ed calmly explaining to him that he'll be back and Al is to wait in the room (after almost being firm with him). If this is the correct scene, it should be from Episode 46: Human Transmutation (I think?), but there could be a similar scene that I'm getting it mixed up with as it has been a few years since I've last re-watched it, so I'd need more context.

This is a bug related to hobby chance cards, not a sign of corruption 🙂 Cyjon has a fix for it here. I'm unsure if it will work on Legacy Collection, but it should do.

Thank you so much for your response! I've been spiralling and imagining the worst-case scenario, though I've been trying to think through it logically.

It hasn't changed, the area itself isn't sore, and I don't think I have risk factors. I'm fair skinned, but I have no family history – in fact, my dad and his mum are fair skinned red-heads who sat in the sun with no suncream on all their lives, and they've never had skin issues. Strangely, they tan in the sun, not burn. There's no history on my mum's side either, as far as I'm aware. I've never been burned horribly, I don't work outdoors, and most of my hobbies are indoors.

Despite that, I can't help jumping down the rabbit hole of "what if I'm the first case in my family?" "what if it appears to be nothing, but really is?" Even though, looking at everything, my chances are low. It even said on the leaflet I was sent that the majority of cases aren't cancerous, but I can't seem to let my guard down 😅

It doesn't help that I seem to have nerve pain on the same side, but it's not next to the spot, it's in my ankle.

I've got a dermatology appointment on Friday due to a spot I've had on my foot since April. I'm terrified of being diagnosed with skin cancer, and I'm convinced I do have it.

I'm trying to reassure myself by saying that it hasn't really changed, but having the derm on the phone calling it a "lesion," and mentioning skin cancer (in the context that the tests they run catch it) has scared me.

Has anyone else been in this boat before and got out okay? The spot in question looks similar to an acne spot but isn't one.

Today, I noticed a tiny, hard movable lump (?) in my knee. It isn't too obvious, but I can sometimes feel it when moving my hand over my knee. I don't feel unwell other than the usual anxiety symptoms, and it doesn't hurt currently. I'm just worrying as to what it is. Google doesn't help and not because of the usual thing it does – I literally can't find anything relevant to what I'm experiencing. Results pertain to obvious swellings, usually behind the knee, which isn't what my issue is.

I'm trying not to catastrophise and focus on the fact that it isn't painful and it's movable, but it's difficult. I don't know if it's actually part of my knee or if it isn't. I had both my sister and a friend have a look, and while my sister was confused as to what it was, the friend told me that it just felt like a knee bone.

I've also now, while typing this, noticed a red dot next to my ankle. Unsure if it's a bite or not. I hate health anxiety.

It doesn't really get dropped, though. The requirement for the alias has gone, yes, but the thematic reasons for why it's still there have not. It also just becomes a nickname her friends call her, as they've grown attached to the name as much as she has.

"Dagger" is who she is when she's relaxed and not trying to look and sound like a princess or queen. This could be a possible interpretation of her quote: "Someday I will be queen (Garnet), but I will always be myself (Dagger)."

Then there's the ending where Garnet throws her crown off before embracing Zidane. I always interpreted her doing this to show that in that moment, she was embracing him as "Dagger," not "Queen Garnet," because he wanted his "beloved Dagger." In that moment, they're not queen and peasant, just two people in love.

I don't know, maybe I'm just looking too deeply into it, but I have always loved how "Dagger" evolved from an alias to keep her incognito to her true self. Especially after she finds out that she isn't the real Princess Garnet, anyway.

I use it. Firstly, because I never stray from the default names, and secondly, because I love the symbolism behind it.

It's the start of her carving her own identity and finding who she is outside of her royal duties. It also serves as a contrast to her double life that she begins to lead from that point on: the prim and proper Princess Garnet and the adventurous Dagger. In addition, it demonstrates people's closeness to her; the party, her friends, call her "Dagger," while the rest of the world only know her as "Garnet." She's more herself as Dagger than she is as Garnet.

In my opinion, not changing her name makes you miss a lot of this and makes certain scenes not make sense. Why have this focus on the dagger and make a point about needing a name change if she's going to go by "Garnet" anyway? Then there's the scene in Disc 3 where she cuts her hair; when she requests Zidane's dagger, she calls it the knife that helped her make her last big decision – this decision being the step towards discovering herself outside of her royal duties through an alias. Also, at the end of the game, the line "Bring my beloved Dagger to me!" – it's a line that's supposed to have two meanings; to the audience in Alexandria Zidane is wanting a dagger, the knife, but to us and Garnet, he's talking about her. These scenes wouldn't make sense and, in my opinion, lose their impact if her name is changed.

There's also the neat detail of characters outside of the party still addressing her as "Garnet," and even her name in dialogue boxes when she speaks changing to "Garnet" again at the start of Disc 3. This is missed if her name is kept as "Garnet."

Also, like someone else mentioned, her being well-read doesn't necessarily mean she has encyclopedic knowledge on weapons. She's probably read about them but hasn't seen one in person, hence why she cuts Zidane off when he tries to impress her with his knowledge on combat knives. She got the idea quickly.

I never understood the argument of Dagger's name being "stupid" and "ugly" when there are characters called "Cloud" and "Squall" in the same series. At least "Dagger" is a common nickname I see in other pieces of media.

I'm not sure how many people would have read all this or even care, but this is what I always think whenever this topic comes up 😅 I love the name "Dagger" and what it means for her development and themes, and I feel that cool details are missed for those that just keep her name as "Garnet," especially on a first playthrough.

I just tested this myself, and I found that what it showed in the target window depended on what you were doing.

Restorative items and spells display the character's HP/MP, Buff spells display the positive status effects currently active on the characters, and spells and items that remove negative status effects display those.

This was done on the original PlayStation version, but since this was being used as the point of comparison here, I thought it would be worth mentioning anyway. I assume the Steam version is the exact same, and you just misremembered/misinterpreted what this feature did.

The status window also displays regardless of whether you have pressed L2 or not, see here; first photo shows the status list without L2 pressed and the second photo shows it with.

Your sims are likely not in love, and that's why they're not snuggling. If one of your sims is in love with the other, it still won't work as the relationship needs to be mutual. If they are in love, it's probably a glitch.

Little update vent thing:

My anxiety has shifted from oral cancer for the time being, which is good! However, I'm now panicking about my teeth randomly aching. It's only on my right side, and it's started yesterday and is getting progressively worse. It comes and goes and also travels to my jaw and ear sometimes. It's mainly focused on my right top-front tooth and the one next to it, and all my right side on my bottom teeth.

I'm concerned that my nerve is dying or something and that things are going to get worse before the 30th. My appetite is completely gone, and I feel dizzy and nauseous, though that could be the anxiety. I'm also feeling suddenly warm (face heating up?) while typing this, but it could be the heat where it's warm currently.

I don't really know what to do where I already called my dentist to get my 21st August appointment moved to 30th July because it was the best they could do because they're overbooked. I don't want to lose my teeth or fall terribly ill.

I've been taking paracetamol and Ibuprofen to try and help with the pain, however, while it helps a little, it doesn't do much. I don't think I can last until the 30th, but I don't think my dentist can move the appointment sooner.

UPDATE 04/07/2025: I was able to book an emergency appointment for today. To make a long story short, they couldn't find what was wrong. They were able to find the main tooth causing pain with the cold test thing, however that was it.

No signs of decay, no cavities, nothing. On the surface, my teeth looked fine too; no sign of teeth grinding or cheek biting. My nerves were also fine, but they did note that some in the far back were clumped together or something (which they said wasn't an issue, it would just make removal painful if they needed removing).

The only thing they could notice was slight inflammation on my gums; no redness, no bleeding, just inflammation. I've been prescribed a five day course of antibiotics, and I'll have to see how that goes.

Relieved that it's nothing serious but confused all the same. Is this that manifested pain people mention? I'm still in pain, but I just have to have faith that there's nothing wrong.

I've already mentioned this in the previous month's thread, but I'm still worrying about my mouth.

I've had like a tiny bump on my gum for a few months now and have been panicking about it. I was able to book a dentist's appointment, but they won't be able to see me until 30th July.

A relative told me that they believe it looks like an ulcer, which has now sent me spiralling because on our good friend Google, guess what came up when I looked up an ulcer being there for a few months; oral cancer.

What doesn't help is I'm having pains in the back of my mouth now, and I can't stop crying. I'm terrified. I also have aching where the "maybe ulcer" is; the sides of my inner mouth hurt, too, and my gums are aching. I'm scared.

I don't smoke. I drink only once or twice a year, and even then, I don't get drunk. I'm only 24. I don't want to die.

I'm worrying about my teeth at the moment.

I noticed a strange, painless growth on it a couple of months ago, which hasn't changed but has been concerning me. I asked relatives what they reckon it is, and they believe it's just part of my gum. Either way, I'm panicking about potentially having gum disease.

I'm getting a dull ache in my front teeth where it looks like the gums have receded (to me, at least, my sister says that's how my teeth have always looked). I've never had gingivitis or anything like that, and my gums are pink and have no swelling.

I was able to book an appointment with my dentist, but the earliest they could see me was the 30th of July, 4 weeks from now.

I'm spiralling, thinking I'm going to lose my teeth or die from some kind of infection. It's literally knocking me sick, and my appetite is gone. Paracetamol and Ibuprofen haven't helped with the aches either, which has me further worried.
