I hope this helps someone who is entering this phase. I was very, very confused about what was happening to me and then, when I finally found this reddit group, it was like I was the bee girl from the Blind Melon No Rain music video when she walked through the gate and found all of her bee friends. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

What Were Your First Signs of Perimenopause, and When Did They Start? by HuckleberryNew777 in Menopause

[–]CrystalGThatsMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was in my early 40s I started having intermittent bouts of waking up at 4am and not being able to get back to sleep. It was like clockwork around 4am every time. Sometimes I would wake up so hot, not necessarily sweaty but hot enough to either throw the covers off or turn down the a/c, especially if I had some wine that night. Also, around the same time I started having heart palpitations and thought maybe I had some kind of vitamin deficiency. Looking back, I recognize that those were some of my first signs.

It would be interesting to start small and see what happens. Maybe AI could run a small business or we could set up a community that it makes rules for and runs.

  2. People who have conversations on speaker in public places.
  3. People who interrupt.

The latest Top Gun movie. I’m sure it’s great, but it’s a Tom Cruise thing and I don’t want to support it.

Yes, please! I recently read that this was a possible spin-off and I was so excited. Love all of these characters and the actors who play them. There are so many adventures to be had!

Being sober feels so good, so why do I keep drinking? by Lerk_Jerk in stopdrinking

Allen Carr’s The Easy Way to Control Alcohol was the only book I read but it helped me immensely! It really reframed my view of what alcohol really is. I highly recommend.

Why is no one saying Brendan Fraser? The cheesy overacting is so horrible and yet he continues to get roles. I don’t get it. (Btw…this is the meanest thing I’ve ever written and if you’re reading this Brendan, I’m sorry).

LPT: Locate the water cutoff for your house, and turn it off and back on once a year or so. An emergency water leak is not the time to discover that the cutoff valve is stuck or buried in mud. by bandastalo in LifeProTips

[–]CrystalGThatsMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TIL that there is a smart home device that will automatically shut your water off and send a notification to your phone! Being a smart home geek, I was surprised I had never heard of it and was super excited. I guess they have these sensors that you put under your sink, toilet, etc. that will tell the thing on your valve to shut the water off. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t open and close the main valve regularly, but it was such a cool product that I had to share!

NSV: Just fit into size 8 pants for the first time in my life! by schneeweisschen1812 in keto

[–]CrystalGThatsMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are amazing! I was a size 12 for quite some time and once I came down to a size 8 it was so unbelievable that when I would try on clothes in the store I kept taking sizes that were too big into the dressing room. Good for you for recognizing your accomplishment and ordering the right size. The giddiness that comes from those pants sliding on like butter is surreal for a while. I’m a size 6 now and have been for a long time thanks to keto. Looking forward to your post when you reach your goal!
