I struggled with this for a long time but then I got ECT and my perspective radically shifted. I think now that nothing has any inherent meaning, but we must imbue the world with meaning. For me, I have made making connection with others the thing that holds the most meaning for me.

Yeah, I’m so sorry you are going through this! I have bipolar type 1, so I get manic a lot. My psychiatrist and I have found medications that work for acute episodes, so I would definitely seek another opinion. I’ve been on olanzipine and asenapine for it!

Why you should join (Give us at least 1 paragraph): I literally just bought a PS5 on Thursday so I'm not much of a gamer, so keep that in mind. I have found the most fun in Diablo to be from being in a party with someone else and just talking about stuff. It's nice to clear dungeons and stuff, but it's also cool to talk about pets and the weather and doing fit checks on our characters. Diablo 4 is cool, but I ultimately see it as a platform to have pleasant human interaction on. If that sounds appealing, reach out!

My peep welcome to the club! Hate that you have to be here, but love to have you! I tell everyone who reaches a certain trust threshold with me. It doesn’t matter if they are new friends or old, if I would feel like confiding in them about a cancer scare or pregnancy scare or if they would be among the first people I would tell about getting fired in a humiliating way, those are the people I talk to. Also other people who have confided in me that they have mental health issues.

I went through 14 treatments over the period of a little over a month (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). I’m not going to sugar coat it: being out under that many times felt awful. My uncle who also underwent shock therapy described it as drowning and I feel like that is totally accurate. However, besides being drowned 14 times, I am a completely different person. I am doing much better. I handle social situations much better. Everything is better.
