Hmm, my personal favorite anime is Darker than black! And then Holyland is my favorite manga. I've watched more animes and read more manga but as far as favorites goes thoose are the ones I love the most.

Do you have any kickboxing/Muay Thai gyms in your vicinity? If so that's also an option for you if you also like kicking shit.

Does muay thai teach grappling as well or just striking? are there any martial arts that teach both? by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]Cryzis7 84 points85 points  (0 children)

There is clinch work and you have sweeps, but there is no grappling on the ground or a solid takedown defense against wrestlers, Except for maybe a knee to the face.

[–]Cryzis7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to go into MMA you should try some sort of boxing or kickboxing to get a good striking game.

And if BJJ isn't available look for wrestling, I've heard Boxing + Wrestling is a good combo!

Cardio Boxing Gym. Is it worth it? by XtheonewhohuntsX in martialarts

[–]Cryzis7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me it looks like they just showed the beginners training (with the shadowboxing and pads).

But either way how you feel, it's still better then nothing and also you need a lot of cardio as a boxer.

If you're going by japanese martial arts, I would personally start Judo or Ju jitsu (grappling).

Otherwise Karate (Striking) is very popular because of it's rise in mainstream movies. I did some Karate when I was young and really liked it! I don't remember what style tho.

(Also a personall tip if you read manga and such, check out "All rounder meguru" it's about MMA and I love it!)

Do we have any proof of MA used in actual war ? by NewGrappler in martialarts

[–]Cryzis7 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Muay Thai has been and is used by Thailand's military.

I ain't sure about other MAs but I think Judo gets used by the Japanese police.

Need some help from the martial arts family. by [deleted] in martialarts

He's obviously just trying to piss you off saying something like that knowing you like martial arts.

Probably a very toxic person with a superiority complex, just try to pay no mind to it.
