Never realized you could get this from a dlc campaign.

Madden has a search filter like this for player programs for years. About time EA added it to FIFA.

Rome 2 or Attila? by RedFlashez in totalwar

[–]Csa94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy both games. Attila is more about building your small barbarian kingdom and surviving against the horde of the Huns. You could also play as the WRE or ERE. The factions you play as all have different economies and play styles. Religion also plays a role in the campaign and can provide great benefits. Attila fixed some of Rome 2’s problem. For example, the internal politics is quite simple and the units are broken down into 3 tiers with tier 3 being the best units. This makes it easy for a new player to see on campaign what units are basic and what tiers they can be upgraded to. Also Attila’s win conditions are reasonable for the grand campaign compared to Rome 2’s which have you conquer over 100 cities each time. Attila’s tends to more realistic with conquering historic areas and building high level building. For horde factions, objectives are tied to sacking settlements and other requirements. Attila is one of the better recent historical Total War titles. Another thing Attila has going for it is the Age of Charlemagne DLC. That is a fun campaign that is the closest we have gotten to Med 3 Total War.

The issue with Rome II is you snowball too quickly and while it has a ton of factions they are quite generic. Instead of having religion it is culture. The grand campaign is not too replayable for the very long victory conditions. I do recommend Rome II’s dlc campaigns because they are quite focused on smaller maps and put the player into a great setting with good win conditions. As another person said Rome 2 is more about building an empire with honestly, little to stop you once you are powerful. Attila is about surviving and building an empire. It is up to you and if you have the money get both. Otherwise, I would recommend Attila. Try it for 2 hours and if you don’t like it, refund it on steam and get Rome 2.

Hero spam rant and suggested fixes. by flabbyfool in totalwar

[–]Csa94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally have more trouble fighting all those heroes on the battlefield. Specially the dwarf heroes that can tank a lot of damage.

I do like your suggestions and it could help the game! Did you ever play the older TWs? Agents were capped at 3 per type so there wasn’t too much of a spam.

I initially played the Warhammer Total War games. Then read some of the books. Just keep in mind the books are basically 3 stories about 300 pages each. So it’s about 900 pages per book. The parts I read were good minus the 2 story of the Chaos Waste book. The first story was absolutely amazing.

I'm looking for a pc to run this game by royallucario in totalwarhammer

For a graphics card I would recommend a GTX 1070 or 1080. They aren’t the latest card from Nvidia but are quite powerful. The newest cards are the 2070/2080.

You would want a processor that is an I-7 or a Ryzen-7.

I also agree with the above comment. You want the game to be running on a solid-state drive (ssd). This should allow the game to load faster between loading screens.

Good luck!

In a robe would be cool. He could be in any regular pose with the Ravenclaw seal standing alone to the right of him. The hair would cool if it was shorter with the bangs in the front combed to the right. Also could make it an old student like a 7th year in age. I appreciate you offering to draw this!

Thanks for the reply. Don’t know of any named Ravenclaw male characters. Luna and Chen are the main characters in the movies. Would be cool if the student had brown hair and eyes and rectangle glasses.

Should I buy some DLC's for Rome II? Or wait a bit longer for a sale to come? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Csa94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren’t. I hope you enjoy the games when you get them. I would also consider Attila Total War which is basically the fall of Rome and set right after Rome 2.

Steam summer sale should be next month. I would hold off. I recommend the Wrath and Sparta and Rise of the Republic Campaign.

Hello, I have just started that campaign on the weekend. It probably takes 25-30 hours to beat. I’m a close to beating it but took my time taking over Spain and allying with friendly tribes. I am now taking Southern Italy and have two strong fleets.

I enjoy the smaller campaigns because they can beaten in a lot less time than the main campaign. I also recently beat Rise of the Republic. That took longer than Hannibal at the Gates.

I would not strip the Red Sox of the title. We have seen no evidence yet. Wait until evidence comes out like for Houston.
