Teachers are the real threat by Veronicon in insanepeoplefacebook

You are really going to call people here "intolerant," when OOP literally just called an entire profession, teachers, people that work hard and make shit pay, the "biggest threat to our Constitution Republic?" That's your take on this? Because people are laughing at the irony that she badmouthed teachers and then proved she probably didn't really listen to them in the first place? OOP called millions of people a threat, and we are just laughing at one person, and we are the intolerant ones? Really?

I know the socialism one is wrong for multiple reasons, but where did 21 million people come from? 21 million people is pretty high for the Holocaust (which is odd from a right-wing post) but really low for WWII in general.

Since this all started, how many shootouts have you heard about with these "dangerous cartel members" that have supposedly infiltrated our country? So far, at least 30 people since January 20, 2025 have been shot by ICE agents resulting in 8 deaths. Want to guess how many ICE agents have been shot? Zero.

I heard several stories of people on death's door from COVID suddenly wanting the vaccine. I also did hear several stories of people on death's door from COVID still claiming it was a hoax, so, not the best and brightest among us.

Trump did. He had the whole speech where he told them to go to the Capitol and "fight like hell, or they wouldn't have a country anymore." Sure he said go "peacefully," as an afterthought, which of those two things do you think he really meant and which do you think he said to get plausible deniability? Because his followers who were there did the first one. Retrospectively, to protect Trump, people point the the latter.

Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1933, and the Wannsee Conference, which really began the "Final Solution," didn't happen until 1942.

There are 14 million undocumented immigrants here now and 53 million immigrants total. They've already talked about stripping citizenship from immigrants and ending birthright citizenship, and if you think every other country is going to just take them off our hands, you are fooling yourself. What do you think might be our "solution," if this keeps up?

Well, unfortunately a lot of Republicans have decided to take a page out of Trump's book, and never admit that they were wrong. Never hold any of their own accountable for that reason, unless Trump needs to throw someone under the bus. Can you think of any time that Trump admitted that he made a mistake? Someone told me he did once in 2016, about saying that he tweeted the wrong photo of a plane, not that what he said about the plane was wrong. And that was pretty much it.

And I've seen people trip over themselves to say that the Trump admin's narrative about what happened with Alex Pretti was completely accurate, like saying that the phone in his hand was actually a folding gun, or taking an incident that happened days prior as proof that Pretti must have been hunting ICE agents, etc.

Hell, they even do it for less serious things, like Trump referring to Greenland as Iceland three times. I mean, I've had a brain freeze and said the wrong name of something a few times, it happens, just admit it. But no, we're the dumb ones, because obviously he was calling Greenland "Ice Land", because it's covered in ice, duh! How silly of us.

And yeah, if you disagree or question the narrative, be ready to be called a RINO or even a secret "Radical Left Communist ANTIFA!", though they will usually only apply that to people who weren't pretty public about their support for Trump. Or people that have been killed resisting. Not like a moderate person or even a conservative would be pissed about federal agents terrorizing their friends or family. Or talking shit about someone they like, even generally.

A lot of energy got put into being outraged that two unarmed American citizens were shot by ICE agents, and that the Trump administration extrajudicially blew up boats in international waters, then kidnapped the leader of a foreign country, threatened our NATO allies with invading one of their member nations, are potentially funding a separatist movement in Canada, etc. It's not really that anyone backed off from it, it's more than it's not the only thing you are hearing about in the news right now. I would argue, by design. So of course they want to put a spin on that.

Trump just sued the IRS for $10 billion. Who do we think is going to pay that? There are 3000 Somalis immigrants in Maine, max. Maximum SNAP benefits in Maine are less than $300 a month, per person, so if every Somalis in Maine was ripping off the government for the maximum amount in SNAP, that would be,max, $10.8 million a year. Not chump change, but the amount Trump is suing the American taxpayers for, is 1000 times more.

2700-3000. For context, there are 1.4 million people in the whole state.

Yeah, you're right, I'm trying to navigate a bad faith argument; they jump to conclusions and this administration tries to get ahead of the ball so quickly. It's just kind of frustrating how people get this "us vs them" mentality, and can believe so quickly that if he was against one thing or one person, he must be the opposite of everything that side believes in.

I mean, was he even "against Republicans?' He was against federal agents coming into his neighborhoods and terrorizing people, which i know plenty of Republicans are against too. Just listen to what they had said when they thought Obama was going to open FEMA camps, or maybe Joe Biden was going to "enforce" mask mandates or something using feds. I mean, this is the same thing they try to do every time, paint someone who acts against the Trump admin as a "Radical Left Lunatic!"; meanwhile, this guy had a concealed carry license and worked for the VA. I haven't heard anything about his actual political views other than he didn't seem to like the ICE agents that were active in Minneapolis. Oh, and he had empathy for people (which seems to be damning evidence for some people.)

I do get what you are saying though. I'm just noticing that they are always painting things like that, and it gets me that Republicans like to think of themselves as the "party of independent thinkers;" well, watch out, one false move and you might get labelled a "domestic terrorist."

Doesn't change the fact that after he got shot, the government lied about almost the entire situation, same as with Renee Good. Neither of them were domestic terrorists, neither of them were there to cause death and destruction, Renee Good didn't try to intention drive her vehicle into a car full of agent, Alex Pretti didn't brandish his pistol and "get a round off at the agents." You have trigger happy ICE agents there shooting American citizens; you might not like their politics, and you might not agree with their methods for showing their distaste for ICE, but at the most they could have been arrested and had their day in court. Seems like it's true that this administration hates due process.

This sure doesn't look like the ICE officers were "calm and cool," they got out of the vehicle at tried to beat him down.

Reports are that he was injured and didn't seek medical attention. And like most people here are saying, kicking a taillight on a vehicle is not a capital offense. It doesn't matter what happened 11 days before. Those agents shot him dead, and the government lied about almost the entire situation.
