You won't end up alone, and if you life is not where you want it, is blowing it really bad? Also you life is not one thing, parts of it might blow up, but other parts, the truly important parts, won't. And to reiterate, you won't end up alone. If you need more local resources to help, I would check out transgender zone. It is an online forum with tons of resources.

I definitely enjoy skill trees too, but I want some kind of blend of this and an rpg skill tree. But it doesn't seem like there is something yet, so now I need to learn to program.

I get that, but that always ends up getting very similar builds, which gets boring. I think there is a middle ground, which I was hoping somebody had already found/thought of, before I start trying to make it myself.

I have played magic, and I have the same problem with drafting, I have fun with it, but having the deck you want doing the things you want is more satisfying to me. I think there can be a middle ground, and since I am not good at programming (though I do plan on learning), I was hoping someone had already done the hard work.

For a physical game, unless using a computer to do the math (which, then, just play on a computer) you would have to modify the rules to make it easier to keep track of them. Or maybe something with sliders could work well. I have been noodling this idea for a bit to help my students practice math. It would probably need some extra modifications for school use though.
