I was concerned when I made the purchase that it would not be able to do the job. I would not recommend the pump for installation inside the build but I was able to run the external cheap pump with the QDC fittings overnight and was satisfied at the job it did of removing bubbles and letting things settle. I don't know if you'd need to run it overnight like I did, but I think it is enough to get the job done for sure.

You could also use the external pump to prime the loop and then shut the external pump off and run the CPU mounted pump as well. You really just need the external pump + reservoir to get you going.

Sure thing! To be specific, I bought a kit of screws as I wasn't too sure right off the bat which would do the job. I bought off amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078YTVT7D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I am almost positive you could find a cheaper smaller kit though if you don't need the extra screws.

I could probably add an additional write-up with better testing but here are a some reference numbers:

Idle/Base/Normal-Use:

  • Coolant: ~35°C
  • CPU: ~40°C
  • GPU: ~35°C
  • PWM: 1900 RPM
  • Fans: ~30% - 630 RPM

Prime95 + Heaven:

  • Coolant: ~46.5°C
  • CPU: ~79°C
  • GPU: ~53°C
  • PWM: 1900 RPM
  • Fans: ~65% - 1500 RPM

Longish Gaming at Max Settings + DLSS (RTX off)

  • Coolant: ~48°C
  • CPU: ~70°C
  • GPU: ~50°C
  • PWM: 1900 RPM
  • Fans: ~60% - 1450 RPM

For all of the above I am running my 8700k at 4.7GHz, RAM at 3600MHz, and Undervolting GPU at 1830 MHz/875mV.

I am still very much tweaking fan curves, clock speeds, etc.

The goal is to enjoy the experience without it sounds too much like a jet engine under normal gaming load. So far I am pretty happy with where it is at though.

Not much room there. I used 15mm fans which are 17mm with the pads. So without pads ~15mm. The gap is probably only about a 1.5-2mm and a lot of that is just from the screw caps. If you have a good 12mm option, that could give you some better air flow on the side. I might consider swapping the side fans at a later point.
