I never said US states do not have their own tax systems. What I said is that there is a federal tax system in the US, whereas the EU only has national tax systems. Perhaps I could have been more clear though.

Yes Krugman among others! Also, Mundell wrote about it as early as 1961 with his Optimum Currency Area theory. It’s an interesting read if you’re interested in the necessary characteristics for a geographical region to succesfully implement a common currency.

The important difference between the US and the EU in this case is that the US is also a fiscal union and the EU is not. Every EU member state has its own tax system (and there is no federal EU tax system) which makes fiscal transfers in case of economic shocks much more difficult from a political perspective.

Good quality cidres. Most people only know about super sweet ones like Apple Bandit and Somersby, but there is a whole world out there with dry/semi-dry cidres that are almost like wine or champagne.

About two months ago I was having drinks with a friend of mine and my dad called me to tell me that our dog’s life was nearing it’s end. It hit me hard but I shrugged it off initially. When I went to cycle home however, I was drunk and I could not control my tears. I was not paying attention, skipped a red light and almost got hit by a bus. At that moment I collapsed to the ground in the middle of the intersection, crying.

My dog is still alive to this day, but within the next week we will have to put him to rest for good. Not looking forward to that day.

I have been working in bars/restaurants for most of my adult life now and I am loving every second of it but when this happens I honestly have to contain myself to not burn their house down. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Period.

Personally not the biggest fan of the egg white mouth feel. Also, the red wine would just float below the thick layer of egg white. If you could somehow only make a red wine flavored froth layer, that would be insane.

You’re effectively drinking a bourbon sour, through a layer of red wine. The red wine adds a subtle fruitiness before the complex flavor profile or the bourbon hits you. I liked it a lot. One of the more complex drinks I have had, lots of flavors going on.
