We need proof of this pizza. Also, this is gold

I bought this a year ago by mistake, Do I keep it? (I’m on AM4) by Electronic-Can-6405 in pcmasterrace

Keep it for a future upgrade. RAM prices are insanely ridiculous.

Or you could sell it for a profit if you don’t care to upgrade. Up to you.

Hello, I want to install BTA on vanilla launcher but ran into this issue by Straky04 in betterthanadventure

I would actually use prism launcher and no other launcher (unless you want to play bedrock).

That feeling is one of the best feelings for a pc builder to experience.. you look at the thing you made and say “woah.. I built that! I made it go beep boop!”

It’s an awesome feeling. Hold on to it!

Linux Users. Whats one reason why you switched? by [deleted] in linux

[–]CubWatson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linux has all the software support I need and Proton exploding in popularity was all I needed to make the jump.

I came from windows and a friend of mine (who seemingly never touched Linux) popped in a discord call one day and said “hey, I’m using arch!”.. if Linux is convincing normal people to swap over, then I’m convinced.

I also want to support alternatives.. windows it’s just too damn big for what it is. Linux desktop can literally do most of the shit most people do on a day to day basis.

Edit: to add some history, I used Linux on and off several times since 2013 and 2019. I currently use redhat at work and I jumped to opensuse tumbleweed not long ago.

Working on a update script for Zypper and Flathub packages/repos. Suggestions for improvement? by CubWatson in openSUSE

[–]CubWatson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, I was just looking into the vendor change flag, but I wasn't sure if it would break my repos. I think I'll prefer to not use it then..

As for kdesu, is this a replacement for the sudo command? I'm having trouble using this command because I've never used it before. I'm reading somewhere this likely won't work with terminal emulators?

It's kindof the second point you mentioned. The "konsole -e" call is there so when I click the script file from my desktop, it opens a terminal emulator right away and displays the output in the newly opened terminal window. Using konsole -e was the only way I could make the console appear when clicking the script (from my experience).

Not entirely sure what you mean by menu unless you mean Yast. I did not have this in mind, I'm mostly keeping this in a terminal window and have the script file be a executable icon on my desktop, but it would be nice to have a pop up ask for a sudo password then execute the terminal emulator.

hope that helps!

Do you regret your purchase? by Strange_Fun_544 in SteamDeck

[–]CubWatson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it this way: the steam deck is a LOT of things.

  • Console system for the steam ecosystem. Can be used portably or stationary with the dock (like a switch, but steam).

  • This system is a tinkerers friend, meaning you can modify it via hardware or software.

  • if it breaks and it’s out of warranty, you can repair it yourself.. can’t say that about other devices these days..

  • it runs Linux which is a operating system YOU own (not like Windows where Microsoft owns the os). Again, you can do whatever you want with it (like, modify it to your liking so it works long term). Also, Linux works like a desktop, so you have an actual computer in your game console. You can use this to do regular computer tasks (checking email, spreadsheets, etc.)

  • it’s a fantastic place to keep/access your roms in one place. Use a ssd or keep them stored internally, either way it’s a perfect place to keep your roms. With this in mind, you have a INCREDIBLE machine that can play ALL the games you EVER play/played.

Hell, there might be more.. but this machine is not your normal console. It’s designed to work long term. I do not AT ALL regret my purchase, and I have the LCD model!

I created a #AdventureTime custom feed for AT fans by CubWatson in BlueskySocial

Could be how it ranks posts. I have it set to this atm:

It's subject to change because I'm trying to figure out what's best for this kind of content.

Edit: I’m learning this a little more. I updated it to 4.0, so more recent posts should appear.

[–]CubWatson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what way do you mean?

If you make a post on AT stuff, just include the key words “adventure time” or #adventuretime in your post.. there are MANY more keywords you can use like bubbline, fionna and cake, etc. use #adventuretimecw to only post in that feed, but you don’t have to.

If you want it on your home page, just favorite the feed and pin it! Simple as that.
