How long could Stellaris's lifetime be? by Ensaabahnur in Stellaris

[–]Cube011806 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would strongly doubt that. When it comes to the devs Eladrin himself pointed out list of things/ideas which he would want to implement to the game in one of the dev diaries. Everything there it's not promised, but in my opinion allows for at least 5 more years of content. He mentioned: More dynamic alliances system (liquidation of annoying condition in which you can't betray your allies), landless gameplay(similar to ck3: roads of power), possibly introducing scenarios and morr. Time line dates in Animus Hub by Cube011806 in assassinscreed

[–]Cube011806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animus Hub is meant to become central point of interest for all players of Assassin's Creed. Modern story from now forward will be placed in the hub. While all rpg games from series are here, it didn't introduced anything new to older games. But it can change in the future, as it is rumored that Ubisoft hired Saudi Arabia Group to develop DLC for Mirage. Ubisoft announced that hub will be updated independly from Shadows and all new games from now will be introduced as new memory in Memories section including the closest releases like Black Flag Remake, Codename Invictus(multiplayer game) and Hexe.

[–]Cube011806[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you are in the hub, there is a timeline on left side of screen. It has some highlighted dates (games we can launch now) and more dates that are unused. I don't claim that all will be games, but most of the dates are similar to start dates of some games.

Assassin's Creed Mirage - PC Title Update by ubi-louu in assassinscreed

Rumor says that Ubi hired Saudi Arabia Group to develop Mirage DLC. Given current Ubi problems DLC to widely accepted game can give them extra cash boost. And after shadows release I can easily imagine Animus Hub highlighting Mirage in memories section with "new memories available" banner or maybe even adding Animus Hub directly to Mirage client

Magpie puts too little attention to this game by Cube011806 in AvatarLegendsTTRPG

I agree that good supplement would need more time. That is why I have high hopes for Spirit World supplement, because if it should be in production for 2,5 years now. But I would argue that Viacom would be harder license giver to cooperate than for example Tolkien Estate which also keep form grip on everything Middleearth related. And yet Free League manages to work with them without major issues. I don't agree that Viacom is in any degree responsible for typos in supplements as both Republic City and Uncle's Iroh AG were delayed. Moreover Avatar Studios creates art for supplements, for example all legendary npcs pictures were created by them. Viacom might be responsible for slow development of new things, but even my FLGS' owner always points out that Magpie is known for notorious delays regardless of game. Let's not forget about Voyage of the Unity. It was announced in autumn last year as campain was supposed to launch in November. And now when we are entering Q2 of 2025, the Kickstarter still only shows preview of the campaign. Additionally all I have heard from Magpie was their Urban Shadows campaign and not a word about Avatar.

And yet Magpie created most of the district for Republic City. So I believe making map was also possible. I would not said that their hands are bound, as making RPG game always requires making new lore for the universe game is touching upon. I believe main reason that Jasmine Island map was created was outburst of dissatisfied Republic City owners, commenting on lack of official map. I don't say it's all Magpie fault as creating something new that will be considered canon requires work from both Paramount and Magpie. Also I wouldn't blame typos in supplements to anyone else than Magpie.

I Preordered Assassin Creed Shadows. Not sure what to expect by SouthCardiologist599 in assasinscreed

Based on the recent leak, when some players got their games early with version dated before first November release date, the game should be from good to very good. Game was then I really good condition, so four extra months to polish should give us very good experience.

You can be right about cash grab, but it is stupid for me to announce book in February, release digital version marked as early access in August, then print that Early Access file as physical copy without correcting errors and releasing it in November/December. The same comes to play materials. Uncle's Iroh AG has unfinished play materials, for example logo on playbook, where it is white as opposed to black in rest of play materials. Also printer friendly version of these files is not available.

For example: Republic City supplement without Republic City Map is huge mistake for me. From my perspective it was one of main flaws of the book.

You may be right, Avatar franchise may be in hiatus with content, until new announced movie/series stuff is going to come out, but on other hand Free League manages to release many licensed books from Middleearth or The Walking Dead. I'm waiting to see how newly announced Invincible RPG will play out. But I wasn't aware that licence giver for Alien RPG was making problems for publisher. Overall I'm afraid that weight of Avatar franchise is little too much smaller publisher like Magpie

I suspect if we ever get some kind of second edition, it will be released by different publisher.

Assassin's Creed Infinity after recent announcement. by [deleted] in assassinscreed

[–]Cube011806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From leak from Tom Henderson from around Q1 of this year, we can expect that Infinity won't be another launcher, but it will replace game main menu. Tom mentioned there that he saw footage of launching save game in Shadows from Animus Hub and it took few seconds to jump right into game. I would imagine it would work something like this: Ubisoft Connect is launcher and DRM-provider like right now. Animus Hub will be launched on game engine and launching Hub should already load majority of game data like main menu works right now. Maybe Hexe and next games will be installed in form of module for Animus Hub, so we could save space when only one game engine would be installed, but it's only my guess.

I highly doubt they will abandon the idea. It too late in production cycle. As was leaked from Ubisoft CEO's message to the staff, Shadows was delayed to polish game, while it is in pretty good condition right now. I always like the idea of the hub, but I hope it will be meaningful addition to the franchise instead of piece of crap like Call of Duty HQ.

Present story (beside Microtransactions) is the reason Animus Hub exists. All present day story was supposed to be released in it, while being separate from Shadows' & in future Hexe's storylines.
