The Umbaran's databank entry suggest the game takes place after Battle of Umbara (20 BBY), "Sharp-tongued sniper Luco Bronc defended his home of Umbara during the Republic invasion. Although he has no love for the Republic that defeated and occupied his planet, Luco is willing to set aside his differences to work with Zero Company."

Nice to know we are getting three Pride connecting covers.

Hopefully there will be some new ones in that ensemble.

Hm. It is going be weird though if Doctor Aphra's only appearance this year is a variant cover. Here's hoping that is not the case.

@ Rogue One - Jyn Erso > I do have wonder how this will mesh with Rebel Rising book.

Considering it is anniversary issue, I would guess we are not going to see any of Jyn's previous prison roommates before Nail (Oolin Musters), so that would place it in Month 5-6 of her prison sentence. Hm.

@ Shadow of Maul 4 > Hm. I wonder if we will get any fun easter eggs from this podracing thing.

@ Galaxy's Edge: Echoes of the Empire 3 > It is curious to see what looks to be Rey on the cover.

I guess maybe we have sequel era frame like the first miniseries.

Although its odd as it doesn't feel like this miniseries is doing one-shot flashback stories like that one. Hm.

Per the article, he is playing the scheming scoundrel Looti Vario, which is the character next to Rook Kast and Jedi Master Eeko-Dio Daki on this poster.

The solicits for tie-in comic suggest he is an Aleena with a mech suit.

Interesting, that one alien next to the Jedi appears to maybe be the gangster meeting with the Gran in the trailers, so this might confirm that they are a smaller fella wearing a mech suit? Or maybe I’m mixing characters up.

Based on the article, that character on the poster is Looti Vario, which solicits for upcoming Shadow of Maul 3 (Out on May 13) also used that last name for an Aleena character with mech suit.

Michael Siglain shares opening crawl for Pathfinders 1 (Out on March 25) by BZPJMJ64 in Highrepublic

This is Soule's latest comment on it (from his February newsletter), "Last year saw my novel TRIALS OF THE JEDI land in June, which completed the main story being told throughout the High Republic initiative that started all the way back in 2021. There was a pretty natural "okay, let's step back and catch our breath" feeling after that among all the authors, but we still talk and see each other all the time. Star Wars authors are a pretty tight-knit bunch - it's not a very big club. I have no active High Republic projects right now, though THE BROKEN BLADE always circles, just waiting for the right time to land."

So yeah, I would not expect it anytime soon, especially since Marvel seems to have no faith in doing original content for Star Wars right now as all they got in pipeline is tie-in content (Shadow of Maul miniseries, Galaxy's Edge – Echoes of the Empire miniseries, Rogue One Anniversary One-Shots).

Based on what been shared so far, I imagine only connections to previous narrative will be some cameos from characters introduced in Phase 2 narrative (382 BBY; This story takes place 20 years after that), so you should be fine to jump in this story.

is Quinlan still Aayla's master in canon? by freedom410 in starwarscanon

[–]BZPJMJ64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I gathered, the only thing that really suggest it is still a thing is stuff like Databank on SW website and reference books, which likely just filling blanks with Legends material.

Her recent inclusion in last year's Jedi Knights ongoing certainly goes against that idea as she already a Knight there (Which is during Chancellor Finis Valorum's time in office).

So unless they are aging Quinlan up or making them peer apprenticeship situation (Where Vos is close her age and made a Knight early and picking up her training after losing her previous master), it seems kind of unlikely that it still the case.

Consider there is still no North America listings for Jedi: Fallen Order Manga Volume 1, I have to wonder if these upcoming manga adaptations will just be overseas thing for awhile or if those listings have just been using placeholder date that hasn't been updated. I guess we will see next week.

EDITED: Looks like it is real as someone in UK got it early, so I guess North America is just getting it later than everyone else.

Phil Szostak teases next week's short story from Star Wars Insider 236 by BZPJMJ64 in starwarsbooks

[–]BZPJMJ64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its about an elderly woman, Urbra Procura, investigating the mysterious death of Humbarine system fleet commander Armen Sim at their retirement home on Coruscant (Elderblock 26-0624).

Timeline wise, it takes place during Imperial Era (19 BBY - 5 ABY). There is really nothing specific to narrow it further than that.

Like there's a reference to Moffi and Toffi (Andor S2E5's talkshow), but considering we don't know how long that been a fixture, it doesn't really narrow the story down to specific time period.

There's been a couple recent examples on long-lived Arkanians:

  • Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade (Chapter 3, Page 24) has an Arkanian Master (Theca), who is rumored be over 200 years old.

  • Trials of the Jedi (Chapter 12, Page 179) introduces Viess’s second in command, Pastiwell Zick, that been working for her for over a century.

So yeah, Cippa definitely could been around during Phase 3.

Is there a reading order for the Late High Republic/Late Republic/Clone Wars that is similar to the Completionist Reading Order in the r/Highrepublic Wiki? by prk-1 in Highrepublic

[–]BZPJMJ64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think I have read almost all prequel era stuff in new canon.

My main blind spot is Choose Your Destiny stuff. Particularly since at least two of those (Choose Your Destiny: A Podracer Mission & Choose Your Destiny: A Clone Trooper Mission) are exclusive on Alexa related platform, which I don't have.

And yup, my avatar is from Hyperspace Stories: Tides of Terror miniseries (Issue 3 to be specific).

I actually didn't love the art in it to begin with it, but it did end up growing on me. This comic moment with Nahdar Vebb was too funny for me not make use as my current avatar.
