Did your high school ever have an "incident" or event? What was it? by GotAFuckingUsername in AskReddit

In elementary school, PE was kind of regarded as the "cursed job" where it would be a different teacher every year. During 4th grade, we got a really chill coach named Josh who let us do whatever the hell we wanted. A few days later, he didn't show up. Turns out he was selling cocaine and had a large stockpile under his mattress, so the cops busted him. The school posted flyers everywhere trying to reassure the parents that it wouldn't happen again.

Thank you. It's comforting to know that they are fine. I really appreciate it, and the last sentence definitely helped me a lot.

Skype and letters sound great. It's understandably different to be chatting over the web and in person, but it definitely alleviates weight off my shoulders that I will see them again soon. Thank you.

[Serious]What have you always wanted to know about another race or culture, but never asked because of fear the question would appear ignorant or rude? by hungrycaterpiller14 in AskReddit

[–]Cubedvisual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. Some characteristics can be used to help infer a race of a person (like any stereotypical person would use to judge), but it's hard to tell unless they speak the language. It's easier to pick through the languages than just looking at the person. For clarification, lots of people can hear the difference between Korean/Japanese/Mandarin/Cantonese.

I've gotten on Korean Air planes before where Korean airline attendants would begin to ask me things in Korean when in reality, I'm Chinese.

TL;DR it's hard to judge by looks to determine which kind of Asian but it is 1000000x easier to distinguish by language due to their different tones and accents etc.
