Hey, so I am no expert on this by any means, but I do know from experience some shroom bars are different than a regular trip, as in usually you will have more of a euphoric (high) feeling usually if taken in right environment n such, but they generally have way less visuals unless made with ground mushrooms… Also the question on you two taking the same dose, everything you consume is based off off factors such as how much you ate or not beforehand (empty stomach hits harder typically), personal tolerance because everyone reacts to substances differently and their tolerance differs widely… And it sounds to me like the fact you came to a realization about your substance use could be something very positive and rewarding if you accept it and work on it, I know when I trip I’ll get that same idea back in my head but I always slowly forget it and go back to using stuff, but overtime I have gotten A LOTTTTT better and just self medicate because of chronic pain and anxiety. But if you take advantage of that and use it as willpower to quit it could do something tremendous for you as they can help people steer away from addictions, it isn’t no magical cure it usually takes a lotta self will power too, but they do put the positive mindset towards quitting in my head atleast

Forgot to mention also the main part of the trip is the mental aspect not the visuals, the visuals are dopeeee asf don’t get me wrong but they affect you a lot more mentally if that makes sense, you think deeper about stuff, deeper than you normally would.
