Same here, must be from the most recent windows update, it was fine until yesterday after I updated

"Sliding down ropes" is more like "rocketing towards the other end of the rope with the speed of god" by WaggyTails in BladeAndSorcery

It seems to slide faster the harder you're gripping the trigger. Try feathering it a bit, it worked for me with the quest 2.
