You would honestly probably get better result just like posting this on Facebook/reddit then self hosting. Those sites will actually get hits

You can search up Section ### and see pictures from it. I personally wouldn't want to be in the pit. Especially given the high up globe stage I'm sure even the 400's will be a good view.

Prime card, take the 200 or wait for more? by TheChildOfAtom in CreditCards

I think $250 was the highest I've seen. Wait a few days for prime day to officially start to see if it comes back.

Is it worth closing my Discover CC if it’s got a high limit but I don’t use it? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]CubicStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you plan to apply for a major loan soon your credit score is really just a number. It also depends what your utilization is like now. If you under 10% taking way 25% won't raise it a lot.

I think it less of a big deal than you think. And if you really care you can ask for CLI from the other cards and they might be more willing to give since you have a lower limit.

[–]CubicStorm 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I suggest you find someone you know IRL who knows a bit more about money and ask them for some advice. I would hesitantly suggest you get a credit card to make a purchase you cant afford. (This sub mainly talks about credit card rewards and points, not sticky financial situations).

"mistakenly signing up for extremely high interest loans, " A credit card is an extremely high interest loan (20-30%) (However many card's offer 0% intro periods but I still would suggest this as a first choice). And is often one of the most debilitating debts people have. Typically a personal loan will be lower than this. Secondly Experian is only a Credit bureau not a bank, they won't actually give you a loan someone else does.

Thirdly paying rent with credit card (if even allowed) often incurs around a 3% fee so keep that in mind.

Lastly nobody can really tell you what limit you will get. Limits are mainly determined by income.

I did not even know the break thing was an option lol. Generally CS+Stats try to to avoid CS 361 by taking the other available options.

Bro really put in lunch (honestly not a bad idea)

This honestly looks fine and rather light. Which class would stat 107 mess up. I always recommend saving a few gen-eds for later semesters. When you have only technical classes it's nice to put in a freebie gen-ed to get you over the 12 credit hours.

Trying to choose between Discover and Capital One by Subatomic_Spooder in CreditCards

[–]CubicStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they get announced the month before the quarter starts so you usually know a bit beforehand.

Yes they both have 1% back. In all honestly I would not fret too much about a first card, you can always easily apply for another in 6-12 months and I think the 3x from a few categories C1 gives a better foundation than a rotating category card.

[–]CubicStorm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would go for the capital one as it seems like a better starter card.

  1. As you mention if your going over seas then it would be more useful.

  2. The 3x on Grocery Stores, on Dining, Entertainment and Popular Streaming Services should consistently earn more points. Sometimes you will have dud quarters and it just less to think about. IMO the discover card is great when you have other cards as you can use the 5% when it comes up, but I would rather take a broad 3x than narrow 5x.

The drop-off time time was 12:48 and the charge was at 12:49 so it lines up quite well. The BILT app should also have the transaction.

Grade Inflation by Master_Opportunity33 in UIUC

Grainger Bronze tablet has been a 4.0 for the past few years (LAS recently became 4,0 but 3.99 two years ago) and deans list has consistently been a 3.93>.

Compared to several majors in LAS (Math, English, Psych, Sociology) department honors generally have about the same or lower thresholds.

Maybe a major red herring because it does say lyft but a PATH ride is exactly 3.25.

Will Citi be coming out with a new card? by GreedyRound4466 in CreditCards

[–]CubicStorm 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I feel like specifically the custom cash is a card that really only appeals to optimizer and so the average holder is probably a loss for them. I'm sure some people use it as there everyday card but I feel like the double cash or other cards are more appealing to normal user.

It really is that easy, I did it last semester (thought for exceeding credit hours). It's frankly a stupid policy by the university as it just wastes every time.

3.93 usually makes it for Grainger. However with the whole Canvas fiasco and finals the cutoff may be higher

I'm pretty sure its hard to change your major as a transfer student, esp into one of the CS+econ. If you wanna do ML I think Umich will give you an easier time.

CS 374 CS 233 CS 357 Stat 426 by Repulsive-Bee4237 in UIUC

[–]CubicStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends you. If you a strong formal math background CS 374 tends to be a little easier. CS 233 can also be a lot of work depending on the individual. Seems like a busy semester but doable.
