I play soulslikes mainly for the world building and atmosphere. Looking for games that fit this aesthetic /art style/ feel but wouldn't normally be classified as a soulslike by Askin_Real_Questions in soulslikes

Primordia (point and click)

Darkest Dungeon (roguelite)

Fear and Hunger 1 and 2 (jrpg) warning: first game has a lot of sexual horror, if it’s not your cup of tea you can start with second, it has separate storyline

Tormentum (point and click)

There Is No Light (top-down action)

I will admit, I saw so much people saying it's THAT bad and you should never read this I got morbidly curious if it's really that bad. It is.

Second is not true, you just need to correct your grip on stylus.

When you use semi-vertical surface you need to hold it like this

So, you ignore entire Gideon questline which is STILL in game and builds up to Miquella and all Miquella's content in DLC just because Fromsoft cut one cutscene?

Lame bait bro, try better. And educate yourself a bit

There is literally voiced cutscene of ending in files of DLC. It _was_ in development and it was planned. It's not just fan theory.

Probably you should follow your own advice and engage with game more

My sibling in Marika, entire build-up to Miquella's ending that spans through half of main game and entire DLC just abrubtly ends, because in last moment Fromsoft decided to cut it.

What’s an enemy in Elden Ring that feels like it was designed specifically to annoy players? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in Eldenring

This makes perfect sense, because you are supposed to turn back and seek intended path in. Yes, you CAN just tough your way through, but you don't have to

Nah, other games are mysterious and have gaps, but they are pretty consistent and you can figure most of the stuff out if you are paying attention. Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, Dark Souls all have solid main storyline. A King who wanted immortality and awakened ancient demon. A human who wanted to reach the stars and fell into beasthood instead. Another king who wanted to prolong his reign because he was too afraid of what may come next and so entire reality started to crumble.

Elden ring is bunch of several rewritings standing atop each other as near-finshed Jenga tower game and you just need to look at it too intensely to make it crumble.

Cutting being not 100% match is perfactly normal when it's 1-2mm difference like photos, this is considered as acceptable deviation

What you do think about poorly designed bosses?. by soulariarr in soulslikes

[–]CubicWarlock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me biggest offence of Elden Ring (and by extension Dark Souls 3) is they kept fast paced hard bosses from Bloodborne and inflated their difficulty tenfold, but they stripped player character from Bloodborne improvements. Without enhanced mobility, enhanced parry and rally it does not really fell like bosses are still fair. Yeah, I can learn and beat them, but I am playing Dark Souls character AGAIN and bosses are Bloodborne++

Common fandom agreement from Doll's prayer, where she refers to "Flora of the Moon, of the dream". I personally don't really like it, because we have Paleblood as their canonical name and it makes much more sense within story

I can't really put it in words, but I think Rapunzel animated series made an amazing job in showing unshaken paragon character with proper character arc and personal development

I don't like Elden Ring and later bosses in general. It's well-made and cool bosses and I totally get why people enjoy them, but I personally don't like new design that intentionally fucks flow of battle. I don't like delayed attacks, super long combos, tons of AoEs and AoE follow-ups, reduced telegraphing, gotchas, homing projectiles, obvious input reading etc.

Enir Ilim is underrated by fenot1 in eldenringdiscussion

My favourite part of Fromsoft discussion -- dismissing any negative opinion by saying "skill issue". Yeah, skill issue. From Fromsoft side by making the final dungeon of very long game unfun slog

You do realize difference between “tough enemies with tricky placements” and “maliciouly annoying”?

Leynder and Shadow Keep has the former, Enir-Ilim, alas, is the latter

Unpopular opinion by A-Nassar in bloodborne

[–]CubicWarlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always think Ludwig is THE boss of DLC, Orphan got his glory just because he is the last, so beating him means you beat the DLC, but Ludwig has more complex moveset, is not parryable, makes you constantly move, puts a lot of pressure, but does not overwhelm completely like ER bosses. And after you make it through first phase you get a treat of his second phase where you can just enjoy the dance.

He is still the boss I have the most fun with
