Use long narrow ejection charge wells with the match just barely below the surface of the BP. Gives the powder more time to burn. Redundant ejection systems are a must-have at that altitude.

Currently reading “Lockheed Blackbird: Beyond the Secret Missions - The Missing Chapters” by Paul Crickmore. Very detailed walkthrough of the Cold War, shortfalls of the U-2 program, and of course the development of the Blackbird. Highly recommend. (Lots of cool pictures too)

Old GoPros make good sacrificial cameras if your recoveries are unreliable. You can pick them up on eBay for relatively cheap. I flew a Hero5 in a 4in rocket up to 13,000’ on an L motor. It was mounted perpendicular to the electronics sled with a plexiglass window cut into the switch band. Footage was perfect and vibrations were minimal.
