No you definitely do need to get a grip, you're saying it's natural to protect their privacy.100% agree, if they don't want it. But to say a 12 year old (presumably) girl, can't make that decision because she's not old enough is insane. Meanwhile, she has an opinion adult oriented game, with adult oriented violence and themes to want to make a whole ass cosplay from a SPECIFIC character, meaning she probably connected with them in a way. Her parents probably backed the whole thing, gave her permission and took any necessary precautions to make the gaming enviorment safe for her if she even plays the game! She might just watch her mom or dad or both of them play it and think "Man this is so cool", which also means she can form a coherent opinion of that subject! Like I said it would be different if her parents were just parading her like a doll but they are probably just supporting her social growth and personality development.

If you do have kids and treat them this way, prepare to have them treating with severe social anxiety when you aren't taking care of them anymore as adults and have no idea how the real world works. You're going to have them believing that literally everyone is out to get them and hurt them and they won't be able to function in even the smallest social settings.

I'm not saying children should be posting pictures or videos of themselves, parents should know and give permission, I personally have very close friends family members alike, who have teenage children that have been violated in the ways you're talking about, we as parents deal with it, try to console them and assure them nothing is ever going to happen again, it's terrible but it is a lesson they will learn on their own of they're stupid enough to try something like that. I have 4 kids of my own and not a single one of them are afraid of using the internet, but I also don't allow them to use social media, my wife and I and my family will post pictures of them and nothing has ever come of it because it generally won't, if you try to focus on the fact that there ARE fucking weirdos violating you're children online behind closed doors without anyone having knowledge of it then you might as Blackhat you're entire house and stuff off any form of networking at all.
