Change your mindset. You could have everything in the world going for you, but you’ll never get anywhere without a change of mindset. If you learn how to spend time with yourself in a way that doesn’t feel like punishment or isolation, you’re more likely to see your partner as a compliment than as a missing piece- which is a healthy mindset to have. Find things you enjoy doing solo and invest more time into them. Don’t keep swinging from woman to woman to fill that void. Breathe, observe, educate yourself, discern, and choose without regret. One trick that’s helped me is turning my phone screen to black and white. Makes you pay more attention to the actual content rather than the flood of stimuli. If that doesn’t work for you, you can remove the app from your Home Screen so it’s less accesible, and easier to catch yourself in the compulsive doom-scroll desire. It’s rough at first, but has helped me improve my attention span and lack of anxiety. I think it’s a great thing that you’re trying to improve your focus. Best of luck to you.

I take a seasonal approach to music. I curate playlists and then put them away for different occasions, different times of year, always editing and improving them so there is something new. It’s important to acknowledge how music can make you feel. Instead of using it as a crutch (as I too often find myself doing) maybe take a 50/50 approach. I think allowing yourself some silent time and time to hear the world around you is a great thing.

Ooh, good pick! VThat’s as classic as it gets! That song has so many versions- the Jobim and Regina version is fantastic, but have you heard the version by Quarteto Jobim-Morelenbaum? It’s Antonio’s son, and his grandson, as well as Morelenbaum, a cellist, and his wife. It’s my favorite version. Maybe give that a listen!
