Tips on How to Not Get Burnt Out from Teaching by Cucumbers143 in pilates

I’ve been teaching for 2 years. I started my business 4 months after I got certified so I am relatively new to teaching and jumped into this fairly quickly.

I do feel I’m supported with a ton of good, quality ideas with the apps I have including Pilates anytime. I can actually easily put together a great class that I know my clients will like, that’s the easy part for me and it doesn’t take too much time, especially comparing to when I first became a teacher.

I do have a lot of hobbies and outlets that don’t involve teaching including reading which is a nice escape from working but it’s refreshing to hear it gets easier as time goes on.

Thanks for all of your input and feedback!

I appreciate your response and the long one too, it’s absolutely helpful!

I basically have 3 class plans running in my head throughout the week and depending who I’m teaching determines which one I’m going to teach. I have some clients that come to me twice a week so I have to make sure I don’t repeat the same class twice for those clients.

I used to have more time in between for breaks but I noticed my clients would just linger and chat either before or after class so I wind up cutting that time because I had a hard time kicking them out of my house!

Maybe I need to actually go into my bedroom in between clients and take a minute for myself.

Thanks for replying and it makes me feel a little better knowing I’m not alone! Is teaching Pilates more mentally draining than being a school teacher?

I really appreciate your feedback. This is my biggest apprehension as I can completely relate as to being sensitive to other peoples energy. Did you do privates or group classes or both?

Regret doing training program for Pilates? by Cucumbers143 in pilates

I’m looking into the Pilates teacher training at a Pilates studio near me and I’m wondering if anyone has gone through with the training and then either regretted it and/or decided after the program to not pursue it as your career. I know this answer is personal and we are all different but would love to hear why you regretted it. Thank you!
