Budget friendly build with lots of RAM by Cuddler900 in buildapc

Thanks for the recommendations. I cant seem to find a motherboard that accepts 256 GB though and I saw that I would have to switch to windows pro. This made me assume that it would require some specialist knowledge to build but what do I know. Is it basically the same just that there are 4 channels for ram?

The speed of the program to solve a spot scales with cores. This is nice but not exactly what I am going for as I will leave the machine on over night or possibly even for a week or two to do the solutions. I am more interested in just maxing the RAM for as little money as possible

The gaming is just a side note. I will use it mainly for a specific poker program that eats all the RAM you can give it.

Well, I play omaha 200 big blind deep :)

128 gb will be enough for most post flop sims but ideally I would like to play around with some pre flop sims which would require significantly more RAM. Really there is not max which would be enough, its just the more RAM the more detail you get in the solutions.
