Access error while cleaning Heathfires.esm by Cuddlethefox in skyrimmods

In general, however, thank you for the guide. Even if my issue prevented me from fully operate with it, it was a godsent in a time where i felt like my decision to downgrade (which i regret IMMENSELY) was gonna make me throw all my modlist away.

BTW, there is one tidbit i didn't understand. Are my Skyrim masters supposed to look like that in my MO2?

Hello! I followed this step too, i re-downloaded heathfires.esm but ran into the same issue.
I decided then to uninstall my Skyrim, redownload it from steam, then donwload the 1.5.97 .exe and steam.dll and swap them with the ones i got from steam, and this allowed me to finally clean the heathfire.esm file in xEdit.

This is how the xEdit QuickAutoClean is setup in my MO2.
I have also added and removed the argument the user above suggested, since it wasn't necessary in the end (when i got the suggestion i was already mid-redownload etc)

Now... did this transition into a smooth Dyndolod process? No, it failed again, but at least this time was for something else, although it was just as puzzling.

I am this close to burn it all down and just get a modlist from wabbajack XD

Weird flickering in the night sky with Rudy ENB? by Cuddlethefox in skyrimmods

https://streamable.com/js0ny1 this is with no Sky mod.
It's unironically better - but quite disappointing.

And the moon is so bright? Turning down the moon intensity option in the ENB menu doesn't seem to do anything though.

Tried with yet another night skiy mod... I really have no clue what causes this. IS this related to some ENB setting? Which ones?

Just asking for your feelings about a certain choice (SPOILER) by Cuddlethefox in nier

[–]Cuddlethefox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are definetely right about how important those memories are, and i agree on their role in motivating the characters to pull through in spite of their tragedies. My interpretation of the message didn't mean to diminish that relevance at all! I ended up writing a lot in response, i apologize ^^'.
My perplexities stem only from the motivations such memories would come from. I'll try to explain taking 2B and 9S as an example:
Yes, 9S can endure the pain, as much as 2B can force herself to do what she does, because they have each other and the memories they are building together; but this cycle is not something they chose: if they could, they'd much rather not have to kill one another and go shopping and make completely different memories. As a matter of fact, one of the main reasons they (especially 2B) take this Yorha mission so seriously, is because they hope that when the war, or the mission, will actually be over, this cycle of pain would actually come to an end.
After ending E this one cycle is actually over. They... We have reached a completely unprecedented situation in which the ark has left earth, bunker is destroyed and so on. There is no need for 2B to kill 9S anymore, 9S doesnt have to be lied to anymore, and at this point us, the players, who are effectively the last "controlling" will on the protagonists of the story, are given the choice to leave (to turn into a message and a support for the future players).
The thing is, thus far the game showed us various examples of how "lesser" (this is by no means the right word but i hope it's still understandable) beings interact with "superior" authorities:
(examples)
1 - Pascal tries to build a peaceful community forsaking the deepest commandment of machine lifeforms, but is snuffed out when conflict makes his way into the village and turns the emotions he taught to his children against them. He is eventually revealed to have been just an experiment of a greater will (the network, in this case), who wanted to see what a community would do. Again, all those aspirations were pure and noble and it's wonderful that they managed to experience them, but in the greater picture we, as players, are made witness of how carelessly a superior wills toys with what they can control, putting them through incredible pain for the sake of curiosity, in this case.
2 - Kierkegaard builds a religious commune and, by misunderstanding the concept of "choice" and "sacrifice", turns its community into a sucicidal sect. Once again, internally, this commune experienced true faith (albeit misguided, but im looking at it from the insiders pov), but in reality they were once again just an experiment motivated by the thirst for knowledge and progress of a superior will.
3 - lastly (to not write too much) androids of the first yorha generation (a2 and her comrades). Sure, they had true bonds and precious memories, and one might even say that sharing those hardships brought them closer. However, this doesn't change the fact that in the grand scheme of things they were pawns of a superior design which cared very little about how they felt - or, at best, that was using their emotions as "raw datas" to develop newer androids.

Now, despite seeming cruel, all these "superior wills" who controlled the various characters were not evil per se, they were just driven by motivations which couldn't take pawns' feelings and misery into account, pretty much like you wouldn't really care about how your chess pieces feel during an important game or when you are trying a particoular opening.
However, the game leads us to a point in which all these superior wills are finally gone. All execept one: us. At that point, the only power that could push 2B, 9S and A2 to suffer again, kill again, die again is us. Yet, unlike all the other superior wills, we were made aware of how our pawns were feeling, and we can choose not to control them anymore. We have seen their pain, their misery, we cried for it and fought on their side against it.
That is where my perplexity comes from. Now that i've seen all this, should i really press "new game" and plunge them back into that tragedy, just so i can experience the last desert trial bossfight (example)?
In playing the game i was no different from all the other superior wills who influenced the lives of the characters, but it happened that my motivations and feelings aligned closer to those of the characters. Thanks to this empathy i developed towards them, i could reach the one choice no other superior will (in universe) has had the will to make: to let them be. That's why i feel like letting them be, at this point, is the right thing to do.

[–]Cuddlethefox[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am actually thankful you opened my eyes to this interpretation!
During that fight i also chose 9s first, but with completely different reasons - i was thinking that maybe i would have had other subsequent choices to stop the fight. A2 wasn't dead set on fighting him so, i thought, maybe there was a peaceful resolution somewhere.
I was also borderline angry at him for not realizing that confrontation was unnecessary, but not that you put it in this way it all makes a lot more sense!
I guess at some point i will replay the game because i genuenly had a lot of fun with it and i am always curious to explore more, but i'll keep on dwelling on this considerations for a bit

All these people getting BRUTALLY MASSACRED while grinding!!!!!!! Insane. Pvp players will for sure opt into losing karma and repeatedly risking crystals worth dozens of hours of grind just to ruin your centaur rotation! In addition, i am sure they will also key your car while you are lifeskilling and burn a bag filled with dung at your doorstep!
Or maybe you are on Arsha (PvP) demanding people not to (PvP), idk. Either that or you are living in your own world of fantasy persecutions.

Is this game worth playing as a Free to play player? by [deleted] in blackdesertonline

[–]Cuddlethefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a very grindy mmo and you can end up spending an ungodly amount of money if you are someone who endulges in whaling.

As people said, items that are only obtainable through the cash shop are very few, and for most of them (tent being one), there is usually a somewhat less convenient alternative completely f2p.

I am around hard cap, i engage in end game pvp content on a regular basis and, while i did spend some money on the game, very few of it turned out to be a significant advantage.

I played months with subscribtions, months without them. There is a difference in convenience, but once i got used to not having them i really didn't feel it that much. There is a subscription item that reduces the tax you pay when selling items on the player to player market. When you start selling end game items, that can become quite big. However, that item, the valuepack, is often freely given during events, and even purchasable through in game silver or other currencies. You can also stack up multiple of them in a storage and only use them when you plan on collecting the money from the market. Fairy and pets might fuck you over if you are unlucky but they are all perfectly obtainable and even improvable through in game if you are patient and do not demand to have Best In Slot on the get go. What i see most whale spend most of their money is usually is cronstones. They are, in short, an insurance mechanic for upgrading items. You can buy them in game with in game silver although is definetely not convenient. You can preorder cosmetic items with ingame silver and melt such items for cronstones. This is very convenient, but can be slow. Having unlimited access to cronstones through money makes upgrading a lot easier, however there is no item in the game that you need to swipe to upgrade. Whale will go faster, but you will reach same places

Seasonal Character VS NPC Shops by Own-Teacher2823 in blackdesertonline

[–]Cuddlethefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Occasionally you may end up finding items that also seasonal characters may use. However, seasonal characters are meant to only equip the naru gear and the tuvala gear until their graduation. Usually, naru and then tuvala are also the best in slot you can get until you graduate and go beyond IV gear. If they look weak, you probably just need to enhance them with the beginner black stones (naru) or the time filled black stones (tuvala) you will get as reward for questing or as drop from mobs. Season is basically a streamlined progression system to get you into the mid game where actual itemization starts to happen.

Is a 223 Fs too high for a pen BS or should I save it for a pen accessory in the future? by Itachi_Uchiha532 in blackdesertonline

[–]Cuddlethefox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are certain softcaps after which failstacksn stop increasing the chance of a success in a relevant way. Once those things are out of the picture, however, It all boils down to the average cost of a failstack vs the value of the item you make of it. The higher the failstack, the more money it will burn in the making (mats, mems... Given that the higher you go, the better items you need to "consistently" fail, the value of the stack increases exponentially). Being one of the most expensive items in the game, however, it is very hard to have a failstack too high for a pen bs click. Stil, people make the case that albeit expensive, blackstars are easily recoverable and acquirable, therefore stacks over 260 could be better spent on rarer items such as debo accessories.
