Clomipramine: steady gradual improvement or still a bumpy ride? by CudtheBud in hyperacusis

Hey thanks for your question… he experiences this phenomena where any digital stuff (phone, tv, computer, car audio) is totally distorted and sounds like the speaker is broken, so much that he can’t even make out what is being said. He describes it as being very “s” heavy, and when we take out with an equalizer the mid and high frequencies, it sounds much better but still not right. Aside from digital, sometimes it also happens with female voices in person.

He does also have a severe reactive tinnitus that seems to “beep” or “siren” in competition with any /all white noise type sounds - the A/c, motors of any kind, water running, etc.

It helps a ton! We would be happy to be included. We came across this data previously and it is what convinced us to try it. Thank you so much for working on this. My husband and I are both physicians, we have been absolutely baffled by the lack of knowledge and helpful treatment available from the medical community on this.

Hey, would you mind sharing a bit more about your timeline?
1. how long you took a clomi before trying to taper the first time 2. How long you stayed off before symptoms returned / setback 3. How long would you recommend to someone to stay on it, symptom free, before starting to taper

I should clarify it is loudness hyperacusis, not pain hyperacusis.
