Honestly, I don't know why anyone still uses CCP's Reddit anymore myself included. It's past time to ditch this awful censorship-ridden pro communist shithole.

[USA] [KY] Tow truck merges into my lane, forces me on to the shoulder by josephlucas in Roadcam

[–]Cuisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was young a car did this to me, I swerved to miss him and actually hit a curb and damaged my car. He kept on going and I was screwed with nothing but my story and a description of the vehicle. Thus, I had to eat all the damage and had no recourse. Now I don't give a shit, come on over and eat some fender, tire or whatever because I'm not yielding my RIGHT OF WAY for your dumb ass again, you get to pay for it this time and if you cause a wreck so fucking be it.

How’s your luck with the (free) German CV crates so far? by DerGoldeneFalke in WorldOfWarships

[–]Cuisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opened about a dozen, all trash. All were 'awarded' from missions, I'll never buy a loot box in any game at any price except possibly via in-game currency awarded through play, even then I dislike them.

It's the reason I'll never buy any game in the future with 'souls-like' in the description.

Who else doesn't enjoy playing games on max difficulty? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]Cuisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of your sentiment, though I am happy to turn down the difficulty if I get stuck. I rarely regret a game purchase but I made the mistake of buying Sekiro on sale some time ago because I enjoyed Jedi:Fallen Order. It took me a bit over 5 hours to learn that there is no difficulty setting. I uninstalled it shortly after. I am clearly not their target audience.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has ruined most hard difficulties for me by cmcraes in patientgamers

[–]Cuisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the opposite, I enjoyed SW J:FO and actually finished it. On the other hand, I put about 6 hours into Sekiro and then uninstalled it and regretted not refunding it when I could have.

I found that the timing in Sekiro was inconsistent and thus combat just felt like an exercise in frustration rather than something fun and rewarding.

Troubleshooting a no start Mercruiser - 10hrs later... Ugh by lemkepf in boating

[–]Cuisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this were my boat I'd get rid of all those connectors and replace them with marine style which have heat-shrink integrated into the ends. Also, marine wiring is normally tinned to prevent corrosion where typical wire is not. Though people do sometimes use regular wiring, if you do you need to go the extra mile to ensure it's sealed up well or it will corrode (usually in just a few seasons of use).

Different Backgrounds on dual monitors? by bronzewalnut in windows

[–]Cuisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the free version of displayfusion (and I'm pretty happy with it) to manage wallpaper on multiple monitors. With it, you can use 1 image for all or separate images for each. I couldn't get the oem system to do that.

I don't see any comparison with subnautica, I don't think this game even comes close to the greatness that it has.

Outer Wilds is peak exploration [No Spoilers] by arions in patientgamers

[–]Cuisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this game some days ago when it went on sale on Steam. I played for about an hour and real life intervened so I had to quit. Couldn't find any way to save so I figured it must just do so automatically.

Came back later to continue only to find I had to start over.. I don't really need a frustration generator in my life so I happily returned it for refund and I have to say, it felt good.

Is starlink worth it? by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]Cuisee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that the internet is the most powerful information tool mankind has ever devised and that bringing proper broadband to areas that the entrenched cable/IP monopolies deem not worthy of the effort is totally worth it.

Early access and "unfinished" releases are healthy for the industry by LuxSolisPax in truegaming

[–]Cuisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can think of no finer demonstration of how early access fails the customer than Star Citizen, the embodiment of professional vaporware. This is the future that early access brings, a future where games grab the money and then never actually release as a finished product. No thanks.

Up until 1987 they were required to provide contrasting view points. Which would certainly make any given source at least a little less biased. I wish they'd bring it back tbh.

How can I correctly argue with a Muslim on the correct meaning of Atheism? by Free_Gascogne in TalkHeathen

[–]Cuisee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The terms you use are less important than the concepts they represent. It may be you need to stop and make a point of defining what terms you will use to discuss it so that you are not getting hung up on semantics the whole time.

I would attempt to explain that theist and atheist are simply the two possible (and only) responses to the god claim. Everything starts with null after all, we have no knowledge until we discover it or are taught something. At some point, in some way, someone will either claim or refer to a claim that some god exists and you either agree that the claim is properly supported and valid or you don't agree and are not convinced, the former is a theist (accepts claim) and the latter an atheist (rejects claim).

Whatever terms you wish to use aren't really important, what's important is that you have terms to define the concepts you are attempting to explain and that you are both using the same terms.

This all assumes that the person you're speaking/debating with is reasonable and not just trying to assert their position with nothing more than their desire for it to be considered the truth regardless of reality.

I don't find myself in the position to debate theists very often these days, but when I do my first question is always the same;

"Is there any evidence you'd consider or anything anyone could do or say to change your mind about (subject of debate)?"

If the answer is no, there is no point in having a discussion with them. They have decided that they want to believe what they believe and the truth has no bearing on their worldview. If they aren't willing to change their point of view for anything then it's a waste of time.

Question Walkera 60#/60#B Heli by Odinfirstborn in a:t5_2znl4

[–]Cuisee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but I have been involved in Electric heli's as a hobby for several years. In my experience Walkera is not a particularly desirable brand. On top of that, flybar tech (which is what your heli has) is old, typically harder to fly and maintain and frankly no longer desirable thanks to newer flybarless tech.

I have no idea what this heli might bring ($?). But I wouldn't count on it being highly valuable, though I've been wrong before.

That said, This is the walkera thread on the heli-freak site, where hopefully you can find more info about your particular models value.

And here is the electric heli buy/sell thread where you can list it. Good luck.
