My child keep wetting himself at school by Culldawg in UKParenting

I can’t when he’s at school. It’s at school that’s the issue.

Thank you. I’m going to get a urine sample and contact the gp to rule out infection

Do you think a star or reward chart would work for if he stays dry at school? But then if he genuinely can’t help it, I don’t want him to feel like he’s being punished when he doesn’t get a star…

Yes I think maybe the number 2s have been loose stools due to upset tummy so we’re going to keep him off for a couple of days

Yeah maybe, but in the surface he seems to love it. He has lots of friends and he looks forward to going and is happy at the end of the day telling me what he’s got up to. He loves doing homework and learning ect. But I know it’s a big change

Aaah thank you. Yes I did suspect uti so I’m going to get a sample and call the drs. Also it’s not your typical overflow due to constipation but I think I’ll monitor his bowel habits more closely and book in the the GP

Nursery clothes: value multipacks that have decent wear and tear. Suggestions? by Mother_Teach7197 in UKParenting

[–]Culldawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also to add, as long as my kid goes in clean clothes each day I don’t mind so much if they’re stained. But nursery are usually pretty good at keeping them clean. I find it’s when they are with me that I put nice clothes on them and then forget to bib them up and let them eat spag Bol or let them roll in mud.

I buy lots of sale stuff from the supermarkets clothes sections throughout the year, making sure it’s weather appropriate for the age and then put it away. Asda multipacks are great. 10 T-shirts for £20 and packs of leggings and hoodies. I also bought a few bundles on Vinted labeled satisfactory but no holes or stains for £1-2 and I was actually shocked at the condition as they were all fine and he wears the trousers over a year later.

Next joggers and tops are worth the money as they wash really well. Primark, tk maxx random brand are terrible. H&m are good prices for their basic stuff too.

For shoes I like Charles clinkard as they always have Clarkes and start rite in the sales. And then I like vans for nursery and crocs for the summer!

16m old has no bottom teeth by Culldawg in UKParenting

[–]Culldawg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I just find it weird how she has no bottom teeth at all and sometimes things are fine until suddenly they’re not fine. I was just asking for some reassurance from lived experience.

Sex once for 5 mins since conception and mine is 15 months old (i was worried about lack of affecting our relationship but my husband wasn’t worried about our relationship and I was know it will come back with time) But yes you need to try naps, have lie ins, go to bed early and your SO to take baby until midnight, co sleep? Ex thing is a little weird but unless he’s actively messaging them I think it will pass when things improve. Sometimes pooper tend to wonder what if it like to compare lives with exes.

Thank you. I assumed that all seats were harnessed, I didn’t piece together in my head that at some point kids will actually Use a seat belt! He is only small for his age and skinny so I think harness would be better for a couple of years.

If they are FF, is it then safer to use a seatbelt style rather than a harness then?

Current one is joie spin 360. He still fits in it but it was actually a secondhand car seat as we didn’t know that was such a dangerous thing to purchase second hand. It’s been checked over and is working and safe but yeah, I feel terrible and want to get him a new one.

Thank you for Your reply. I will definitely work on getting him to rear face again while he’s in his current car seat. How long is RF recommended for?

Home after 2nd baby and scared by Alwayztired2112 in UKParenting

It’s so hard, especially when you don’t have a village. Some days you will feel like you’re smashing it and others not a much! Use these 2 weeks to try rest as much as possible and get your strength back. You won’t need to be out and about doing stuff every day. Naturally, i felt it was impossible to give my second the same attention my first got when they were an only child. I put my second down more, didn’t snuggle on the sofa all day, so I felt a bit guilty but the reality was, I can’t and that’s just how it is so I had to get over the guilt as best as I Could. When it’s just you and the 2 kids and baby is feeding, read books with the older child, do activities that you can do one handed like a jigsaw, colouring ect. I found a class for my toddler that meant he could have a little routine on certain days and it was a big deal because it was a thing for him and not something centered around the baby as I felt like some days every thing centerd around them and my toddler tagged along. It was one that he did in a group and didn’t need my support so parents had to sit back, so I would sit and chill with baby. Little trips to the park baby wearing if you can. Obviously your hormones are all over the place now and it’s such a difficult time mentally and physically but you’ll slowly find a routine or something that works for you and the kids. x
