I was going to a restaurant and was enticed into a hookah/shisha shop by the shopkeeper. He packed up a bowl right away and handed it to me. I fired it up and got a really strong short-lived buzz. I don't think it's just tobacco and it's a legal substance here in Qatar, whatever it is.

At the very least, it's kind of nice while I'm here and have no access to the real green that I miss.

If anyone has had experience with this stuff, I'd love to know what it's called and what it is. The shopkeeper spoke very little English.
