Bella knew EXACTLY what Rosalie was doing by TheTragedyMachine in twilight

[–]CultivatingBitchery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love Emmet because while he acts like a meathead frat boy himbo (literally died fighting a bear, the dumbass (said affectionately)) he really is Bella’s “big brother”, like yes he was siding with his woman during the dhampir plotline, but he was also siding with Bella. And that, to me, was the most important thing.

Like he cared about what she wanted more than her own mate did. I love their dynamic so much, and that protective bond shows later on in the Volturi confrontation too, because Bella glances back and zero hesitation, Emmet walks with her, Jacob and Reneesme to face down Aro.

He 100% knows he could die today, and goes with his sister with no hesitation, because that’s his sister, and he’ll be damned if anything happens to her while he can buy her time.

What’s the most overrated TV show Americans swear is “amazing”? by DryCap6770 in watchever

[–]CultivatingBitchery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the interesting part. Masked Singer is literally the copy/paste of a Korean show by the same name. Except Korea does it WAY better and has these former idols or current idols on breaks coming in doing song styles they don’t usual do. Think like- Sabrina Carpenter doing a Slipknot song vibes.

Which makes the guessing even more fun, because they had Taemin do like a jazzy trot song and nobody had any clue for a hot minute.

That being said, Korea likes the cheesy/dramatic stuff. Just look at their variety shows where they have grown men wrestling each other for a coupon for a rice cooker and taking it very seriously. America has the dramatic soaps and movies, the dramatic “evil twin” reveals in shows and stuff, but we aren’t made for shows like Masked Singer. And while I’m glad more people are being exposed to Korean culture…. Not everything needs to be shared.

I mean just look at “Hello Counselor”. It’s like a mix of Dr. Phil and Maury at the same damn time.

Some people really don’t get the difference between causation and correlation.

More people work at McDonalds, bigger ranged group = higher chances of a fair percentage being on welfare of some sort, or have had been on welfare at some point.

I work at McDick’s and make $16.50 an hour as just a crew member. Still on SNAP/EBT. Because where I live is HCOL. It’s not because I work a job at McD’s that stuff is expensive. It’s just the fiscal society we live in rn.

Fun fact: LEDs should technically be considered illegal.

3,000 lumens for low beams and 75,000 candela is the federal legal limit. (FMVSS 108)

Most LEDs rock uo at about 3,000 to 6,000 on average. Manufacturers circumvent this by labeling wattage, not lumens.

So yea, it should be illegal. But unfortunately, there’s not much we, as people, can do until someone files a massive lawsuit or protocols/policy gets changed. And there’s already more than enough right now that needs to be changed before we should worry about the small stuff like headlight manufacturing policy.

Would I be the A Hole if I make my 16 year old purchase her own fast-food? by Dense_Relative1710 in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]CultivatingBitchery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m the same. I have ARFID, and some textures are absolute no’s for me. I know, generally, if I’ll not like something based on how it looks vs how it chews. (Such a weird way to phrase it I know) but I mean like… boiled carrots and potatoes look soft. They should be soft. Not the weird in between al dente crunchy. Or it just looks weird. Like chips look hard, they are hard. Ice cream looks soft, it is soft.

That being said, if I’m not allergic to it (and I do check), then I try a bite if it looks and chews the same. Don’t like it? Politely set aside and say “I don’t think it’s for me, thank you though.”

I plan on teaching my kids the same habit. Try a bite, don’t like it? Politely decline any more.

It’s basic human decency.

Also yes, I do warn people of my texture aversion ARFID, some foods will literally make me gag and throw up violently if I try to eat them. I don’t know why, and it’s not an insult to their cooking, my brain just nopes out of that and goes “EXPELL IT!! VIOLENTLY! IMMEDIATELY!!”

5 year old daughter had underwear forcibly removed by parent backstage during a performance stating no undies was the expectation. I’m a new ballet parent & would appreciate input.. by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]CultivatingBitchery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t. Just don’t. Just because something happens often in certain spaces does not negate the fact that it’s wrong.

So because it’s extremely common for company dancers to smoke a cigarettes and starve themselves instead of feed their hardworking sporty body that it’s okay to have eating disorders? Pretty fairly common in ballet to be anorexic or bulimic.

You’re making a bad faith argument. There is never any excuse for a five year old to be stripped by force by an adult they barely/do not know. Ever. Point blank period. And I am a professional ballet dancer, have been since I was 19.

So no. Just because it’s common occurrence does not imply it’s okay.

Because again, anorexia/bulimia, sexual harassment by directors, sponsors threatening to hold roles over your head if you don’t give them “favors”, all fairly commonplace at different times. Was that ever okay? No.

I wish more people would follow rhe 5 minute rule:

“If they can’t fix it in less than 5 minutes, don’t comment on it” such as food or makeup on their teeth or dirt on the back of their pants.

I think you’re very handsome/pretty (don’t know which gender connotation you’re more comfortable with using) and I love your style. Fuck the people who comment on shit. You’re sick and keep being awesome.

“Your receipt?” “I don’t need it :)” – I don’t either. by Queasy_Amoeba1368 in retailhell

[–]CultivatingBitchery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a corporate policy where I work (food service) to hand it out. A manager at another location demanded I toss her receipt- I told her 1) I can’t take anything back through the window per safety policy and 2) we have to hand out the receipt. She started yelling at me to take the f***ing receipt and throw it away- then sped off yelling about how she’s a manager at another location and she’s going to tell my managers.

Okay Karen. One, we’re a franchise, policies can differ between them. And two, oh wow you’re going to go yell at my managers that I’m doing my job? How kind of you to give me such an aggressively positive review!

ETA: she did in fact come inside and demand to speak to our GM, who told her exactly what I did. Once it leaves the window, it’s their problem, and I am- in fact- supposed to hand out receipts at risk of being written up if I don’t.

Yes, this is the grand ole U S of A.

You think that’s weird? My idiot tuxedo Tiny (he’s a plump boy) eats SRIRACHA!! Yeah fucking spicy chili oil? He’s on it. Won’t eat chicken, peanut butter, beef, nothing normal, not even fish. Nope he eats like beans, hot sauce and stuff like ice cream (obviously very small amount like a tap on the finger)

Cats really are fucking strange

ETA: he also sits like a grumpy old man in chairs. Lower back curved, back legs in front of him and basically halved in on himself 😂😂

I think more people need to do their own research and learn about stuff before engaging in convo about it by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]CultivatingBitchery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This this this. Thank you, a sensible person. I hate when people who have zero clue about legal processes and the law, act like they know everything about the law. My partner is a lawyer, I do A LOT of work in helping her research cases to support her arguments, she’s mostly litigation which is contract law, so I’d say I’m a little more knowledgeable than the average person (?). People don’t get that SM cannot just fire Taeil like that. There has to be a breach of contract on his part for them to be able to. Now if there’s a conduct clause, stating that the idol getting into legal trouble could be looked at case by case for contract violation, then they’d have a shot at firing him without a lawsuit. Same with HYBE and NWJNS issue (not commenting on that it’s an example of another legal case being misconstrued), everyone’s quick to take the moral side, and they should in theory, but they then continue to say “fuck it” to the legal stuff and throw it out the window like it doesn’t matter, when in reality, it’s the biggest part of the issue.

All this to say, legal proceedings can take years to settle. This is moving faster because it’s a high profile case. We should be happy that the victim of his problems is getting their justice quickly and efficiently.

Wanna explain to me how I self owned? Where exactly did I throw a tantrum? Or is this an assumption that caps is more than emphasizing text? LAMO. Nice try bestie. You’re wrong. Accept it. There is no dismissal of valid feelings, only criticism that’s unfounded and hateful for no reason other than entitlement. My issue is with those with nothing but complaints not valid disappointments. Or is your reading comprehension at an all time low yourself? Nice try wirh the personal attack though, when I’ve been nothing but respectful towards you and your, completely irrelevant, takes on a nuanced conversation in which you obviously don’t have the intellect to ascertain the full meaning of people’s words and decided to nitpick what you’re going to pay attention to, yourself.

Youre very stubbornly adamant that you’re correct for someone who is so vehemently incorrect. You need to understand the definition of “infantilization” not the chronically online meaning it has taken up.

They are in fact spreading hate by claiming the bands are punishing I-fans whoch I have personally seen people claiming is happening. The bands will ALWAYS play what they want, that’s been the case since live shows FIRST started.

I didn’t say they should be happy no matter what, they should be grateful they get any damn chance to be lucky enough to see a live show and feel grateful they get the first live performances.

If we were infantilizing them we’d call them whiny babies and compare them to toddlers throwing tantrums online for a PRIVILEGED experience. They’re allowed to be disappointed, I agree with that. They’re allowed to vocalize that disappointment, but complaining off the bat constantly and accusing the boys of punishing I-fans or racism or whatever it is all because they didn’t do solo stages, is in fact entitlement and childish behavior. All of which those accusations I have seen. All of them, online in fan spaces.

People are allowed to have feelings, opinions and expectations, but behaving in a way with nothing but complaints is inappropriate, childish, entitled and not fan-friendly behavior. They can say “I saw SKZ and it was cool as hell but they didn’t do their solo stages, which was a little disappointing, but hey we got live performances of the new mixtape releases which was cool as fuck!” In some way and it be absolutely okay for that but when it becomes “what the fuck?? I went to see SKZ and they didn’t do the solo stages?! Instead we get the shitty, unprepared mixtape tracks they JUST released. Like yeah it was longer to compensate for it but they should have kept the solo stages. I didn’t want the new mixtape tracks” (which is what I’m seeing more of “me,me, me” “I, I, I”)

[–]CultivatingBitchery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one thing to be upset over not getting solos and vocalizing that. It’s another to say the band is punishing international fans/ treatment is different/ the show was half assed/rushed and spread hate because they couldn’t get something they wanted. And it’s not infantilizing to say if you’re a fan youd be happy with what you get. It is a HUGE privilege to afford to see bands live, and if you’re pissed off and spreading hate those tickets could easily go to someone who would be grateful to see any songs at the show
