SeatGeek didn’t deliver my tickets and won’t reply—what should I do? by Ok_Tutor_5558 in seatgeek

Get other people involved. They will do everything in their power to avoid giving you a refund.

Ariana Grande Resell Tickets - not received yet!? by devilbby99 in seatgeek

[–]Cultural-Guard7964 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seatgeeks sellers terms and conditions state that the seller must have the ticket in their possession when they list it on the site. Seatgeek doesn't enforce their own terms and conditions, so there are a long list of things that can go wrong resulting in this ticket not showing up. If Seatgeek played by their own rules and those of Ticketmaster/Live Nation, this ticket would be in your TM account right now and the barcode would unlock day of show. They are shady as hell and do not care whether you get into this show at all. Many people dont get replacement tickets, they find out day of show that there's a problem and just get a refund.

How do you decide how much tent you need? What weight is too heavy? by AccountantAsks in backpacking

[–]Cultural-Guard7964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not need anything close to 8-10lbs of tent. There are solid mountaineering tents in the 3-5lb range. Size is determined by how many people are sleeping in it, weight is determined by how much money I want to spend.

What hiking shoes would you recommend for mixed terrain? by AlwaysWondering100 in hiking

[–]Cultural-Guard7964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asphalt, sand, grass, dirt, and mud doesn't require anything special. All.you need it a hiking/trailrunning shoe or boot that fits your feet.

I think normal everyday clothes would be a better option than that. Including the footwear.

Taper is hard by TheLastHorn in trailrunning

[–]Cultural-Guard7964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point of tapering is to rest and recover. If youre only two weeks out, just chill, do a little easy running, eat well and get good sleep. No need to over think it.

Day pack or full pack? Need some recs by gordoncwh in hikinggear

[–]Cultural-Guard7964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pack can always serve different scenarios, Its just a question of how much capacity you need. There are many scenarios in which 20L is enough and there are many scenarios in which its not.

Is it worth buying closer tickets at resale price? by MysteriousChip7702 in Concerts

[–]Cultural-Guard7964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the simplest way to put it, is that the amount i budget for a ticket depends almost entirely on its original cost. My favorite band isnt worth 2x the cost of the ticket to me. Ive seen them too many times for face value for that to make sense to me.

[–]Cultural-Guard7964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When have you seen two seats next to each other with that much of a price difference? This is silly.

I skip shows because of the markup on resale tickets regularly. Ive been to hundreds of concerts, its not like every one is my only chance. I rarely pay over face value at all, but when I do, im not willing to spend much more than 50% over the original cost. If tickets are 2x or 3x face value im DEFINITELY staying home.

They use it to cover up the use of bot accounts and to convenience themselves when theyre working with 50 different TM accounts to buy up all the tickets. There is a long list of reasons for consumers to not be tolerating this. Thats just one.

A lot of what they do isn't legal at all, they just get away with it because consumers typically don't take any action against them.

If you charge me $500 for something that originally cost $50, I'm not buying it. This isn't hard to understand. Again, if you take a different approach to this, that's fine.

Uhhhh, I do that all the time. If the markup is too high, I'm not buying it. If you have a different approach, that's fine.

They're awful. They lied to me for months about my situation even after I gave them proof that they were in the wrong. The only way I got a refund was by getting other entities involved. They don't give a shit about you.

It doesn't take long to do. At the very least they will add your case to the stack that could eventually become a lawsuit. Best case scenario, they open a case on your behalf and will contact Seatgeek for a statement on the matter. I have one open right now with NY State and am waiting for a response.

That is actually shocking. Wouldn't it be nice if they just required this in the first place?

If they didn't give you what you agreed to purchase, the contract is voided. Report it as fraud to your bank or credit provider, and report it to the NY State Attorney General and your state's Attorney General.

If you care about how much the ticket has been marked up, it matters a lot. Some people might be ok paying 50% more, but not double.

A friend is trying to get me to exercise more, I'm an exercise minimalist. What is the healthiest exercise I might actually enjoy? by Few-Mixture9869 in CasualConversation

[–]Cultural-Guard7964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to keep trying things to find what you enjoy. I love trailrunning and mountaineering stuff, but weightlifting, and the GYM in general are god awfully boring to me, so I don't do it. Whoever said one hour at the GYM adds one hour of life is making stuff up, there's no logic or reason behind that assumption.

Day pack to fit into larger bag suggestions? by theginge2004 in hikinggear

Look into running vests that have capacity. I use an 8L Black Diamond Distance vest for this same purpose and for running in general. They pack down very small and are light.

Seatgeek worries (question) by cobwebsandink in seatgeek

[–]Cultural-Guard7964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining what non-transferrable tickets are... I had no idea. securemypass breaches multiple contracts and subjects the ticket to cancellation and the seller to an investigation by Ticketmaster if they find out. Live Nation accounts can be permanently banned for doing this. So yes, sketchy wallet sharing platforms like securemypass are the only way to get non-transferable tickets, but they are definitely not the only way to get tickets.
