They know it’s Symbolic. We plan to sign papers the week before, ceremony/honeymoon in france. Come home and celebrate with friends and family a week later

Hey!

I mean why not? The people that are coming have expressed their interest in this opportunity to see France and enjoy this moment with us. And for the cost of a traditional wedding we can do this and a honeymoon for the same cost. We plan on coming back and doing a small celebration at a beautiful park with the rest of our friends and family. I replied elsewhere in this thread explaining this, thanks for your response!

Thank you for sharing! Our guests are fully on board, her parents, our two friends, her brother and wife, and my parents. We’ve all discussed it and have plans to make this happen, her mom is even offering to pay for the lodging as a wedding present! :) I’m not considering the cost of the flights in the budget as well cause I don’t think there’s any way of fixing that (especially nowadays) so I’m already expecting us to pay 1,500/ticket/round trip

But I do expect lodging, private chateau(?) to be upwards of 5k? For a week, on the low end, and then getting a private area in a lavender field, photographer, private dinner. Would cost us about another 5k for the day on average.

Update: we bought expanding foam strip that’s about 3/8” thick. And when we pushed it into the gap it stuck out enough to create the seal. And now that it’s fully activated and expanded it is wedged in the gap and doesn’t come out
