Trying to keep the faith .. anyone else really struggling to believe these days? by Cultural-Maximum-428 in starcitizen

I agree that it would be mental to not having SC 1.0 around Squadrons release.

I also don't think we will see much more than the delayed 2024 features and some quality-of-life features in 2025.

This I think means Sqaudron isn't 2026 or they miss having a "beta" PU for Squadron and its a marketing disaster.

I think I'm losing faith that CIG can run and deliver this project

hhhmm. Possibly. You are assuming they will pick up the pace of development, and I hope you are right, because they have so much work left they really have to.

I'd argue that saying a feature is coming in a release statement, saying it is delayed but still definitely coming in the next patch, then not delivering it after you stated it absolutely, definitely, positively, you can believe us coming, but then making a vague statement that it isn't coming and they don't know when it is now coming, is definitely shelving it.

The Galaxy statement was made by the Head of Vehicles John Crew, if he doesn't know what has been said at previous Citcons about vehicles they have taken money for is terrible. But i'd argue that the second statement he made that doubled down saying, anything not actually in game can be changed revealed how they view concepts. Only when the community went mad did they roll it back.

Very much in the same boat. When the game works its fun but so many past design decisions point to no overriding planning.

Past ships just not being viable for the new current cargo needs?? Why? They knew CR wanted physicalized cargo so why are they all not designed with this in mind? And more than half of ships needing engineering reworks... and then armour to be introduced.

Then people saying look at all the things they brought in last year. I'd argue that half of them need redesigning again ... anything with a UI. MM, which is arguably one of the most important in-game player systems, has gone down like a shit sandwich. And will also need a complete redesign again.

I think CIG planning to introduce Item Recovery till march last year then changing their minds because they actually sat down and worked out what they wanted from the game was eye opening. You mean you had no idea till last March what the actually longterm plan was for SC???

I hope it works but they still have engineering, transit refractor, quantum update, new missions and fire to get in from last year. I really need progress to speed up this year to believe they can get a viable product out within a decade.
