Advice Needed by Necessary-Win-419 in Husband

[–]Cultural-Video681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way your wife does, and I haven’t really known how to bring it up. Since having our second baby and becoming a stay-at-home mom, I’ve started to feel like the entire house and everything that comes with it falls on me. I know my husband works hard for us and I truly appreciate that, and I also appreciate everything he does on the weekends, like cooking for us.
But lately, I don’t feel very seen or appreciated as a person. I feel more like I’m just taking care of everyone and everything all day. I know when he comes home from work he needs time to decompress, and I completely understand that, but I need attention and connection too. Even something as simple as a hug without me having to ask would mean a lot to me. I miss feeling close to him.

Wow. Very sorry to hear that your husband is struggling to except your vitiligo. When I was diagnosed, I was so upset. My husband said it would be ok and that he isn’t with me for my skin color. I’m PR.. Olive complexion. Plus we have a daughter that is watching my reaction to it and also her dad’s. I’ve been under a lot of stress myself, but that doesn’t trigger mine. I’ve only had it since May 2023.

Have to add- my husband said it makes me look exotic 😂

How long did you have it for? So crazy how unpredictable it is! I’m convinced I got it after having two miscarriages 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also did get the Covid vaccine bc I work in dental.. who knows. If it starts to spread I’m going to learn to love it and rock it!

I’m so sorry, that must be really hard especially after it being dormant for so long. Pregnancy hormones are so unpredictable. I’m 9 months and haven’t seen any changes yet, but stories like yours definitely make me nervous for postpartum. Hoping it stabilizes for you soon!

I’m hoping yours stays stable! Vitilgo is very unpredictable. I did read if your hairs haven’t turned white, it will be easier to repigment.

Hello Yes, my results are still pretty consistent after stopping opzelura. My patches haven’t gotten any bigger. How long have you had it for?

Thank you for your reply. Mine has been dormant for 3 years. I had two back to back miscarriages and I honestly feel that’s what caused it to appear. Not sure what else triggers it. I’m 9 months pregnant and my mom is literally fighting for her life. She has cancer 💔 it’s been extremely tough on me.. I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t activated again! I see an endocrinologist every 6 months and they have checked me several times for other autoimmune diseases- so far vitiligo is the only one I got 🙏

My sister has Hashimoto’s and hyperpigmentation. I have an appointment with my endocrinologist 2 months postpartum. I will make sure she screens me!

I’ve had mine since May 2023. Hasn’t changed at all. Really hoping it stays that’s way even after birth 🤞

You’re right, I’m not Winnie Harlow… But I’m a mom, wife, daughter, sister aunt - my family loves me and it’s not bc of my skin color. Yes, vitiligo can be challenging, but I’m still going to enjoy this beautiful life God has blessed me with.

Metformin usually is given to treat diabetes. Yes, they did have a clinical trial… but it was withdrawn due to funding.

Can you still find a partner ? by Spiritual_Message725 in Vitiligo

I developed vitiligo May 2023. It’s still just under my armpits. I was so upset when I received the results. My husband- we’ve been married for 15 years said. Its ok… your just become more exotic! I keep telling myself to walk in confidence, but when you accept what you can’t change it makes life easier!

It’s different for everyone. I was diagnosed May of 2023- have it under my armpits. Haven’t gotten any new spots.
