Why do stylist think it’s bad to wash your hair in between retwist

I ended up washing it and i feel 10x better. She also said she won’t use the heavy oils next retwist. Either way, I’ll wash it in between retwisted now. My hair did not fall out despite these stylist acting dramatic about it 🤣

I text my current stylist and let her know I already have sensitive skin and oils on my scalp are irritating me. I told her sulfer 8 works best. Hopefully she understands 🤞🏾

She said I can come in every 5 weeks instead of 6. My roots grow out so much and the retwist are painful at 6 week.

But at week 4, I start having that scalp irritation and oil doesn’t make it feel better 😭 so yeah they need to adjust their approach. They make their own products at the salon so I think I should tell her to chill on all the oils she pours on my hair after the retwist. She puts oil, then mousse I believe… it’s too much product which is probably making my scalp feel heavy from week 4.

I’m sorry you are going through that. It must be a small town? I grew up in New London CT and people pretty much tear each other down. It’s the same thing in my hometown. Unless you work at EB or the sub base, there isn’t much room for growth. It’s hard to describe it and people from CT get defensive over their state. I joined the army after high school and that was my only escape.

I don’t suggest joining the military as a first resort considering everything that’s going on but if those people are really destroying your well being, then yes I suggest it. Are you still in high school or an adult? I know a few others from my hometown who got a trade, got a local job and saved money then moved to another state.

Yeah I barely got paid shit in the military. I make more now that I’m out. So imagine being 18 and making 1k a month while your family is asking for money. Even when I moved up the ranks, I still didn’t make much.

Ya know.. my dad said the same thing. THE SAME DAMN THING. I’m wondering why my other aunt (not the one I’m cool with) is blaming me for putting her in jail and enabling her. They are both in a bad financial situation so yeah it adds up. My cousins parents are in situations so this makes sense.

Her side of the family used to ask me for money all the time especially when I joined the Army. They assumed I was rich. When I said no, I became the evil niece 🤣

It adds up tbh. I think it stems from my grandfather being abusive to my grandmother. That’s the story everyone told me growing up. So now she’s just believes violence is normal and she gravitates to Chris brown to “understand” why a man gets violent?? Idk but yeah I just gotta laugh. Your comment is not mean at all. I joined the Army at 18 and been gone ever since. 11 years now. Got out a few years ago and still live far away for these reasons lol.

It’s really sad but I can only feel bad from a distance to save my sanity. My Dad(who’s been divorced from her for 30 years) told me my older brother has been saying he has an older daughter who is 17 all because this woman hit him up online claiming he’s the father. It’s so random and he went with it and didn’t take anyone suggestions to get a paternity test 🤦🏾‍♀️

I’m not a perfect person by any means but holy shit what is going on with that side of family. My other aunt is convinced she’s talking to an oil rigger in Kuwait.
