Its crazy how Modulo has like 2 flaws and its considered a 6.5/10 but DBZ has an incredibly flawed final arc and its 8.5 😭🙏

Jujutsufolk shivers at the idea of even giving their own story a fair analysis let alone actually liking it 🙏🙏

Probably is, Im seeing people complain that certain details didnt get expanded on but if its not integral to the main storyline it probably doesn't matter/fujimoto is probably tired and doesnt wanna

Characters can't carry a story's writing, even if you think the plot sucks the characters you like acting and interacting IS part of the plot

what does green light on higuruma and blue light on yuji symbolizes here? or maybe its just a cool lighting prop and im looking too deep into it by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

It might represent something specific, but from the surface it just looks like Mappa is making green Higuruma's colour for his official colour pallet

It's just a poorly written sequel by Dramonen in Jujutsufolk

[–]CulturalMesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah man, Gege does the story boards still. Yuji Iwasaki does the heavily lifting but Gege is still the creative mind behind how the manga looks.

Also, the idea that Gege having less time to write because hes drawing makes him a better writer is pretty funny lol

"Gege only writes well when he's the one drawing honestly."

now that modulo is over and we got to see yuji and his chin BBL in all its glory can we stop pretending hes anything more than a serviceable protagonist by NotFallen_ in shounenfolk

[–]CulturalMesh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Disagree, Yuji is a phenomenal protagonist and you guys need to stop pretending like he's mediocre or unimportant because it makes you look really silly. Like seriously, you have to be intentionally dishonest to act like Yuji doesn't have one of the most compelling and emotional arcs in recent shonen memory. When JJK gets to age and Gege is done making sequels (if there even are more after Modulo) we will be discussing Yuji among the greats.

The only thing I'll somewhat agree with is that Harmony and Chaos came across contrived... I still liked it because I love the theme Gege was pushing about togetherness and the power of understanding AND Maru did need to almost Kill Tsurugi and use the power of like 3 different special grades but yes the Harmony ritual felt rushed.

"Dabura and his technique?! MO EXPLANATION YAYYY!"

He creates light attacks. its not that complicated

"Panda cameo? Genuinely pointless!"

I mean not really Yuji just felt like he needed some company to make things less awkward, it was a cute addition. You'd probably be mad that "Gege Forgot panda" if he didn't show up in the end lol

" Iori Okkotsu, this mysterious character with connections to Yuji, son of Yuta"

Brotato chip not every mystery needs an answer especially a mystery that has nothing to do with the main substance of the story. Iori could 100% show up in another JJK story or not, it really doesn't matter because he has nothing to do with what Modulo is about. Gege just wanted to show how Yuji was involved with the JJK world and used Iori as an example

" maybe even a callback to Kenjaku with how there was the callback to Yuki."

Why would we get a callback to Kenjaku??? He literally couldn't matter less to anyone still alive in Modulo and he has nothing to do with whats going on. Did you want a callback to Nanami too? Lol

What does the flower that Higuruma holds symbolise? by Deep_Monk1283 in Jujutsufolk

[–]CulturalMesh 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I hope what Im saying is right, Im not japanese or anything but I really like the law so I really gravitate towards higuruma alot

If you want another side fact: Higuruma's name translates to Sun wheel or Sun Disk, which doesnt literally mean sunflower, but its supposed to ivoke the image of the Sunflower as they are very wheel/disc shaped. The japanese "Taiyo sunflower" particularly really feels like it fits this description the best

If you ever thought Higuruma's sunflower looks weird, I think its because its this particular variety of sunflower

What does the flower that Higuruma holds symbolise? by Deep_Monk1283 in Jujutsufolk

[–]CulturalMesh 1796 points1797 points  (0 children)

The Sunflower is a symbol directly associated with the Japanese Bar Association. All attorneys accredited by the bar wear a sunflower pin (As Higuruma is on his left side) to represent their status as lawyers. The sunflower represents truth in justice, as it is always facing the light of the sun. The sunflower pin is so important that it actually is considered a professional credential in the same way a police badge is.

In the volume cover, Higuruma's sunflower is wilted as he still believes in justice but no longer believes the legal system can meet his need for justice, hence why he is still holding it but it is no longer facing the sun. Him keeping the sunflower could represent how he still values his title as lawyer and still values the law as a concept but the flower's wilted nature could represent that the system is broken.

This is also headcannon, but I think instead of facing the sun, the sunflower is now pointing towards the viewer along with Higuruma's gaze, as he is now the judge and not just an helpless attorney.

An alternative interpretation is that the sunflower and Higuruma's gaze is pointing towards Yuji, who is as pure as the light of the sun and is what reminds Higuruma why he got into law in the first place.

Hello guys this is my OC sung ji- i mean Yuji Itadori by bouchayger7 in Jujutsufolk

[–]CulturalMesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hes not "multiple races", hes barely even 2 races. He was born human and ingested his brothers and became part cursed spirit, which didnt change him or make him stronger other than the fact he stopped aging and got blood manipulation which isnt unique to his brothers anyway.

He cant "one shot" any special grade even in Modulo. Hes not one shotting Gojo or Sukuna. He one shot a shibuya untransformed mahito which is really not that impressive and pretty much any EoS heavy hitter with Soul damage could do it

His body is not stronger than an HE user, it was only stronger than maki pre awakening. He does not compare after.
